RE: INVITATION FOR ASSESSMENT FOR HOCKEY JUNIOR DEVELOPMENT CENTRE

We are pleased to be able to invite you to attend an assessment for the [insert name of centre] Junior Development Centre (JDC).

Young players with potential from local schools and clubs have been invited to attend this assessment opportunity for a place at the JDC. The centre assessment is being led by qualified coaches appointed by the Warwickshire County Hockey Association. The session will include hockey skills and game play and you will be informed either on the day or by email after the day whether or not you have gained a place at the JDC. The assessment for the relevant JDC will be conducted on the first date that a player attends at a particular Centre; please note, ideally this will be the first date listed on the website for the centre but players CAN be assessed at later dates if they cannot make the first date. If players are successful in their assessment, they will be invited to attend the remaining sessions; if they are unsuccessful, they will not be invited to continue.

The registration of all players is now down via a Centralised system run by England Hockey, and in order to take part in the Development Centre – you MUST register on the website www.EHBPlayerSystem.co.uk

To Register – go to the website listed, and then on the first screen Click “Register”. The various fields should be fairly straight-forward to fill in but please note for Club and School:

1. First select the letter that your Club or School starts with in the smaller box 2. Now click on the larger box and this should provide you with a list of the Schools/Clubs starting with that letter. If it does not, you may need to wait a few seconds and then try again.

For Centre Level – please select JDC For Age Group, select your Year Group based on the following formula (note it is NOT School age groups): Current Year – Year of Birth e.g. Current Year = 2013, Year of Birth = 1997 so 2013 – 1997 = 16, so Age Group for JDC = U16s

For Centre – follow the same process as with School/Club and select one of Solihull / Rugby / Warwick / Coventry (Coventry Uni Sports Centre) / South Birmingham
