Mr. Brown, who will also meet the president of the World Bank, cautioned that if a consensus was not built supporting globalization, "all our prosperities" would be imperiled. "As some want, we could close our markets - for capital, financial services, trade and for labor - and reduce the risks of globalization, but that would reduce global growth, deny us the benefits of global trade, and confine millions to global poverty. According to a 2005 study by the U.S. Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, “The risk of attack by weapons of mass destruction is as high as 70% within the next ten years.”

The report also stated, “The most likely weapon of mass destruction to be used will be a “dirty bomb” in which radioactive material is included within a conventional explosive device.”

And one of the greatest threats comes from the Internet. According to Professor Gabriel Weismann of Haifa University, “There are some 4,800 terrorists or terrorist related Web sites currently on the Internet.”
