SCIS Moodle

 The SCIS Moodle site is a web site where students submit their assignments and receive their grades and feedback

 Programming assignments are included in the Class materials on my faculty website.

 There will be an upload link on Moodle for each assignment.

 The URL is http://moodle.cis.fiu.edu

(Note that this is NOT the same as the FIU Moodle site: http://online.fiu.edu)

 To log in, your Username is your FIU/Panthersoft user ID – something like bobam007 – and your Password is your seven-digit Panthersoft ID Number

 You are allowed to upload only a single file. Since assignments may consist of multiple files you may compress the file into a compressed “zip” file (with extension .zip). See “Creating a Zip File” online

 No other kinds of compressed files will be accepted!  You are only allowed to upload the file one time! To ensure that you receive credit, it is your responsibility to do this correctly!

1. Before submitting, make sure you are submitting the file that you intend to submit.

2. If you use a zip file, before uploading the zip file, extract the individual files and examine them to make sure you have included all of the required files. Claims that you uploaded the wrong files or forgot to include the output cannot be processed

3. After uploading the submission, don’t forget to click the “Save Changes” button! Then, log out of Moodle, log back in and make sure the file is there! Claims that you uploaded an assignment but it mysteriously disappeared cannot be processed

4. Failure to follow these simple directions may result in a loss of credit for the assignment.

Also note that while your individual grades on Moodle should be accurate, the course “average” is meaningless! This is because Moodle gives equal weight to each entry, whether lab, program, or test.  Your name may not appear on the Moodle site if you have registered late for the class. It may take a couple of days for Moodle to be updated
