The Composer’s Voice Concert will take place at Jan Hus Church on 351 East 74th Street in New York City at 1 PM on Sunday, April 26. The performance is one hour long.

New York, NY – Vox Novus in collaboration with Jan Hus Church and The Remarkable Theater Brigade is pleased to present The Composer’s Voice, an opportunity for contemporary composers to express their musical aesthetic and the personal “voice” created in their compositions in a monthly concert series that was created by Robert Voisey in 2001. This month’s installment highlights The New York Miniaturist Ensemble as well as musicians Dennis Smylie, Gilbert Dejean, Suzy Perelman, Suzanne Mueller, Thomas Piercy in a fast-paced performance of short works from composers Roger Blanc, Douglas DaSilva, Eugene Friesen, Avrohom Leichtling, Mark McCarron, David Wolfson and more. The Composer’s Voice Concert will take place at Jan Hus Church at 1 PM on Sunday, April 26. Jan Hus Church is located at 351 East 74th Street in New York. Admission is FREE.

The New York Miniaturist Ensemble has performed hundreds of new works by composers from around the world. Over 200 composers have written works for the Ensemble, including Karlheinz Stockhausen, Christian Wolff, Michael Finnissy, Tom Johnson, Charles Wuorinen, Georges Aperghis, Pauline Oliveros, Sylvano Bussotti, Henri Pousseur, Kevin Volans, and Jandek. In addition to their regular live performances, the NYME recently recorded for Albany Records, and has been featured on radio in Chicago and New York. Formed in 2004 by graduates of the Juilliard School, the Ensemble has been praised for their virtuosic performances and innovative programming.

Composer Roger Blanc has performed at Alice Tully Hall, CAMI Hall, The Whitney Museum Sculpture Court, The Julliard School and more.

Producer Robert Voisey is best known for the 60x60 project, a one hour electronic music concert featuring 60 different compositions by 60 different composers. It has lately paired with an equal number of choreographies, which The New York Times has dubbed “a masterpiece of organization” and the “kind of madness that makes the cultural world go round.”

Remarkable Theater Brigade, founded by Christian McLeer, Dan Jeselsohn and Monica Harte, creates and produces new operas and musicals and takes children's versions out to special-needs and at-risk children free of charge.
