Classified Appreciation Week  Classified Awards Celebration  ASG Contribution - $400 from ASG  AFT Contribution - $1,000 from AFT  Classified Gift o Can do 2 colors, microwave safe, samples on the way o Print both sides – look for quotes for second side (and verify) o $1,600 for 288 (price break level)

DISCUSSION  Voting Process for Next Term o Voting goes out in April o Kathy Palestini, John Taylor, Petra Montgomery, and other adjunct handle election on behalf of Classified Senate o Provide a list of who is running o Late April voting occurs

 Scholarship Basket Donation: Due Monday, April 24 o Approximately $70 budget Classified Senate Minutes March 9, 2017 o Look at list from last year who donated what, brainstorm ideas, decide next meeting

 Taste of Mesa Sponsorship o $100 to purchase 2 tickets to give to Classified Staff – approved o contest will involve looking up something on CS website o use random number generator to select o Send email Monday 3/20 – close Monday 3/27 at 5pm

 CS Communication & Outreach Plan o Vision: go to each area strategically to say what we need help with . “We need a window into your world, and what you need help with“ . “your department is a black box to the Classified Senate” o Find a liaison in each department - create links to Math & Science, LRC, etc. o Need buy in from Pam, to get deans to approve time to serve on committees and attend meetings if time is pre-approved . Potentially have employee provide reports to supervisor to document involvement o Create a warm exchange, make personal connections o As a foundation for future outreach and strategic planning, undertake research to find out what is standing in the way of more involvement, then create white paper with info gathered . Ask “What do you think is preventing in this area from participating?” when delivering Classified gifts o Pull Academic Senate presidents, with them put together proposal to take to DGC o Try to get one Classified Senator to attend AFT liaison meeting to know what’s going on o Create a pamphlet with who we are, these are our meeting times, you know where we are if you want to come join us o
