POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the general supervision of the Manager, Information Systems and Property assists in implementing and maintaining the Corporate network infrastructure and network functionality. Key responsibilities include assisting in the designing, implementing, and maintaining the network infrastructure; configuring and maintaining network functionality and operation; and providing for network access.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Assists in maintaining and monitoring hardware.  Assists in developing, maintaining, and monitoring disaster recovery process.  Provides Help Desk support as required.  Assists in installing, upgrading, and maintaining network application software as required.  Assists in implementing and maintaining network infrastructure equipment, including but not limited to switches, routers, and hubs; ensures operating system interfaces are up-to-date.

Position Description: Network Analyst Page 1 of 3  Monitors and analyzes network performance and utilization; recommends and implements corrective action as required.

 Participates in client and partner support at a Tier 2 level; documents and provides Help Desk with resolution to facilitate future client support opportunities.

 Participates in researching, planning, evaluating network infrastructure solutions, providing recommendations, determining and recommending client and technology requirements, and developing infrastructure specifications.

 Documents all aspects of network infrastructure through the use of network design documents, physical and logical network diagrams, and standard operating procedures; ensures documentation is up-to-date and changes are reflected; provides updates and keeps department staff and Supervisor aware of all network infrastructure changes.

 Works with department staff to deliver seamless network solutions to clients.

 Keeps abreast of new and converging network technologies; makes recommendations for improved network performance, availability, security, and efficiencies.

 Performs such other related duties as may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

 Degree in computer science, software engineering, or information systems, together with three years’ recent experience with networking equipment, routing, switching, and network functionality; or

 Diploma relating to computer networking and technical support, together with five years’ recent experience working with networking equipment, routing, switching, and network functionality; or

 In-depth knowledge of Windows server platforms, exchange, and TCP/IP

 Cisco (CCNA) Certification required

 Microsoft (MCP or MCSA) certification or equivalent required

OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY:
