Melcher Elementary is seeking students, parents, community members, and Melcher staff/faculty members to serve on its Principal Search Advisory Committee. Community involvement is a key part of the success of the effort to identify the right leader for Melcher Elementary School. Committee members will play a vital role in the process.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION Melcher is seeking a new principal for the 2015-2016 school year.
Based on the input from the Principal Search Advisory Committee and Melcher stakeholders, Superintendent R. Stephen Green and his School Leadership team will select a candidate to lead the new school. Preliminary traits for this position include:
1) A proven background in increasing student achievement.
2) A background in education administration at the elementary level.
3) Proven success in parent and community engagement.
4) A desire for a long-term commitment to the position.
The committee will begin meeting on or after April 20th, with times and locations to be determined. The committee will meet along with KCPS administrators. The committee will make a recommendation for hire to the superintendent, who in turn will make a recommendation to the KCPS Board of Directors in May.
