[5156] 2 1 championship on April 19, 2014, they placed second in the nation 2 in a tiebreaker; and 3 4 Whereas, in her seventeenth season as head coach at USC, Boo 5 Major was named the SEC Coach of the Year for the second year 6 in a row; and 7 8 Whereas, in a sport that demands precision, grace, and training, 9 Coach Boo Major and her skilled coaching staff capitalized on 10 their own equestrian ability and training to build a championship 11 team and teach these riders lessons that will prove invaluable 12 through life both on and off the field of competition; and 13 14 Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives appreciates 15 the pride and recognition that the members of the University of 16 South Carolina equestrian team have brought to their university 17 and to the Palmetto State and look to hear of their continued 18 accomplishments in the days ahead. Now, therefore, 19 20 Be it resolved by the House of Representatives: 21 22 That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, 23 by this resolution, recognize and honor the University of South 24 Carolina women’s equestrian team, coaches, and university 25 officials for an outstanding season, and congratulate them for 26 winning the 2014 Southeastern Conference Championship title. 27 28 Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to 29 Coach Boo Major. 30 XX 31
