We are looking forward to your arrival this year for the 2014 ATAC Long Course Open. We wanted to let you know, however, that there may be some logistic issues that we would like to make you aware of prior to your arrival. Although the Gymnastics Center adjacent to the pool will be closed for the duration of the meet, parking is limited and we request swimmers to park at the Tallahassee Mall and office complexes across the street (after 5:00 p.m. on Friday at the offices). This will free up the parking for coaches and officials. The parking immediately to the left as you enter the facility from John Knox Road is strictly reserved for coaches and officials, likewise the parking immediately next to the pool building is reserved for the hospitality parents. If your team is traveling by bus, we would like to ask that once you have dropped your swimmers off in the “right lane” between the Gymnastics Center and pool, that you have the bus park at the Tallahassee Mall adjacent to the pool and center until it is time to pick your swimmers up after their session. BUSES AND RVs WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO PARK IN THE POOL PARKING LOT.

Space is also limited on the pool deck west of the retaining wall. Only coaches, swimmers, officials and volunteers will be allowed in this area. Space to set up tents, etc. for teams is available east of the retaining wall. Please follow guidelines for setting up team tents. Tents and other equipment are the responsibility of teams. The City of Tallahassee and/or ATAC will not be responsible for damage or loss to tents or other items. NO CHAIRS &/OR TENTS CAN BE DROPPED OFF OR SET UP UNTIL 6:30 A.M. ON FRIDAY MORNING. Additionally, the area in front of the retaining wall immediately beyond the double gates is reserved for meet management. A set off area behind the retaining wall is a no canopy zone so that parents may come easily view their swimmers.

In the event of inclement weather, the staff at the pool may have to ask swimmers and parents to clear the deck. Arrangements have been made to access the Gymnastics Center for the swimmers, but we would ask that parents go to their cars “if” parked on the property. Otherwise, they too would have to go to the center. We apologize if this may present any inconvenience, but felt your families should know “the plan” in the event it might be of some help in planning for any contingencies, especially on the first day and a half of the meet.

Also, please remind your families that the 5,000 square foot activity pool will be open from 12 P.M. to 5 P.M . for siblings and families to enjoy. If a team is arriving Thursday evening (6/26) and would like to warm-up/train , space will be made available between 7 & 9 P.M. only. You will need to call the pool in advance, at (850) 891-4901 to reserve your lanes.
