Dear Pre-kindergarten Students,

Welcome to the Pre-Kindergarten four-year-old program at the Environmental Sciences Magnet at Mary Hooker School. Our Pre-Kindergarten program will be starting in just a couple of months and we are already looking forward to the beginning of an exciting new school year.

We hope you are enjoying your summer and you are excited about starting school. We know you will have lots of fun in preschool meeting new friends, hearing stories, playing games, singing songs, and learning many new and interesting things. We have a very busy year ahead of us as we play, learn, and grow together with the InvestiGator Club. Dilly and JT Gator are excited about sharing their ideas, activities, and experiences with you. We will explore animal, plants, water, weather, and so many wonderful things.

While you wait for school to begin, you and your family should take time to read the book, “Froggy Goes to School” and complete the activities connected with the book in the enclosed packet. When you come to school at the end of summer, it will be an exciting time when we all get together to talk about the same book we have read and enjoyed over the summer. We will be rereading the story together and we will share the results of the activities you have completed.

The first day of school will be August 25, 2015 and we ask that you would please bring the supplies outlined in the attached list. Please join us for a school picnic on August 20th, which will be hosted at our school.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our team leader at the email address below. We look forward to meeting you!

Sincerely, The ESM Pre-kindergarten Team
