Brother Knights,

This month’s Grand Knights Report will be short and sweet.

We will be having several activities coming up and we need your help.

Upcoming events include: 1. First Sunday Breakfast – Feb. 1st 2. 1st, 2nd & 3rd Degrees – Feb. 8th 3. Valentines Dance – Feb. 14th 4. Washer Tournament – Feb. 22nd 5. First Sunday Breakfast – March 1st 6. OLQP Parish Picnic (Beer Garden) – May 2nd

I would to thank the 40 Brother Knights who attended the last meeting. I still hope that we can reach 50 – 60+ Knights attending the Meetings.

We passed around a phone #/email sheet. This will let me know if you would like to receive Council news via email or the new Automated Call-Out service.

Thanks to Tim Webb and The Wilmeno’s for a successful New Years Eve Party. There were over 90 people in attendance and a good time was had by all.

Thanks to Joe Moses for the NFC/AFC Championship – Membership Drive. Over 25 men enjoyed the game, cards, washers, chili cook-off, etc. Mike Kershaw won the Chili Cook-off and Darrin Lucas won the $100 Visa card. Darrin invited 3 people to the event: 1 person signed up (Joe Anderson), 1 person is going through RCIA (Greg Love) and 1 person is transferring (Scott Layton). Congratulations gentlemen.

------

May God Bless You and Your Families.

When there are five Sundays in a month we attend the 7:30 Mass to honor the Knights and Ladies that have been called by God to their Eternal Reward. On this Sunday the Mass is said for them. Following the Mass there is a breakfast for the Knights and their families (only) held at the Knights Hall. This is an all you can eat breakfast for $2.50 per person and children under 12 are free. The total cost is $7.50 per person, $5.00 of which is subsidized by the Council. The $7.50 minus the food cost is donated to OLQP Parish Debt Fund. The meal is prepared by Deacon Paul with the help of other Knights. A sign up sheet is available at the two meetings prior to the fifth Sunday or you can call Cliff Brandt at 636-274-1838 before the last Wednesday for reservations.

Joe and Donna are parents of 2 boys (Michael & Daniel).

They are extremely active in the Knights of Columbus and Ladies Auxiliary respectively. Both of them attend almost every Bingo on Fridays. Joe runs the Tuition Program and is a Trustee. Donna makes pies and cakes for Bingo along with working in the kitchen.

Both of them assist Knights of Columbus members in need by bringing members to and from Knights functions, visiting sick members, care for the homes of members while they are away, etc.

They are also active with the American Legion and VFW.

They visit Senior Citizens of the Parish, take them to doctor’s appointments, take them out to eat and shopping.

They are a perfect example of what the Knights of Columbus stands for.
