Instructions for Refereeing

Thank you for agreeing to review the attached paper. The quality of the Journal is in large measure reliant on the quality of the refereeing.

The Journal of Research and Practice in Information Technology is an international quality, peer reviewed journal covering innovative research and practice in Information Technology. It has a dual emphasis and contains articles that are of interest both to practicing information technology professionals and to university and industry researchers.

In particular, we encourage papers that report on activities that have successfully connected fundamental and applied research with practical application. To this end, a key aim of the journal is to publish papers relating to both emerging research and to professional practice.

The Journal of Research and Practice in Information Technology encourages submission of innovative and original articles in all areas of Information Technology including Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Systems and Information Engineering and Telecommunications.

Submissions are in the form of a full paper or a short communication. A short paper should aim to inform readers of current work, to provide abstracts of current Australian research for overseas readers, and to provide for prompt reporting of new ideas in Computer Science and Information Systems.

All submissions to the journal are reviewed for originality, importance, accuracy, and relevance. As we aim for a 3 month maximum turnaround for all submissions, your review should be completed within 4-6 weeks. Please let us know if that is not possible.

Try to be fair and constructive to the authors, giving suggestions as to how the work might be improved. However, this is an international quality journal and papers that do not contribute to research or to professional practice, are erroneous, or poorly written, should be rejected.

We thank you for agreeing to referee the attached paper and look forward to receiving your review. Please return your review, preferably electronically, to the Associate Editor dealing with the submission.

Thank you. Journal of Research and Practice in Information Technology
