January 2013-present: Communities In Schools, Houston; Houston, TX Project Manager Launched a new program at Houston Community College- Northwest. Programs include direct services to students in the form of personal counseling, social service referrals, help with navigating the college system, assisting new students with preparing for college, and facilitating groups for specific populations, such as students in the LGBTQ community. Initiatives included the Hogg Foundation Transition Aged Youth (TAY) grant and the SBISD/HCC/CIS Summer Bridge program to prevent summer melt with recent SBISD graduates.
January 2017-present: Social Motion Skills, Houston, TX Teacher Run a weekly social skills group for elementary age children with autism and other developmental or social needs. Assist students with learning social skills concepts and practicing them in group and in the community via monthly outings.
February 2012 – November 2012: Easter Seals Crossroads; Indianapolis, IN Clinical Social Worker Worked with children, adults, teens and families of persons with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Provided individual, family and couples therapy as well as referrals to community resources. Utilized Cognitive Behavioral, Floortime, Dialectical Behavioral and Behavioral techniques to help families manage symptoms of Autism, improve their quality of life and advocate for themselves in the community.
June 2008-June 2011: Community Health Network; Indianapolis, IN Mental Health Therapist : September 2010-June 2011 Provided office-based individual, family, and group therapy to a caseload of 170 adults with a wide range of concerns and diagnoses. Completed thorough evaluations and assessments and managed any paperwork required to maintain services. Community Based Therapist: June 2008-September 2010 Provided therapy, evaluations, case management, crisis intervention and ADL training to adults with severe and persistent mental illness in a community based setting.
November 2005-June 2008: Trilogy, Inc.; Evanston, IL Team Leader: May 2007-June 2008 Managed satellite location, provided supervision to two full-time employees and three master’s level interns. Provided case management and therapy services to adults with severe and persistent mental illnesses. Created and maintained community connections and education. Case Coordinator/Recovery Counselor: November 2005-May 2008 Provided case management and counseling services to adults with severe and persistent mental illnesses by using client-centered individual and group-based treatment. Also participated in task group to create new mission statement and assisted in training new staff and social work interns.
