Committee Business Review minutes from March 2015 - Approved Note-taker for the minutes? Jaylene took minutes for the meeting SFCC Updates: There is a new template online for course approval process The manual for the entire Curriculum process will be published soon and online for reference Meetings at SFCC go much better when a representative from a discipline can be there to discuss the changes 2:2 will be on September 25th in Pueblo and this time there will be an electronic sign-in process to alleviate the long lines that have happened the past couple of years.
Other Information Per our last meeting, Carol Kuper created a mathematics matrix for the CCPT exam. How it works:
Majority of student will take two tests: The BAAD exam will determine the correct diagnostic test (top table). The diagnostic test will determine the correct course.
If a student wishes to enter a class above MAT 121 they will take three tests: If a student would like to enter MAT 122 Trig, MAT 125 Survey of Calculus or MAT 201 Calculus they will need take the IADI diagnostic test. A scoring above a 60 on the IADI will allow them to take the TCDI test for proper placement.
See the attached S15 Draft (CPT) Mathematics Entrance Scores. This draft will be corrected by Carol Kuper with the following changes: The TCDI table lists incorrect scores for some of the tests (should be 29 to 81 not 82) The last test with a score greater than 82 lists the wrong class (MAT 050) and will be changed by Carol Add MAT 107 and MAT 112 to the LADI table because those two courses are equivalent to MAT 050
Side note: LADI test stands for Liberal Arts
Carol Kuper will also create a document that helps advisors see what math classes are required for a program and what their CCPT equivalent score is.
Todd Schneider will also be working on the same information for the English discipline.
Kent Bauer just received an email that the CCPT exams will be on hold for another two months because of a hold-up with IT. A question was raised about the fact that we have been paying for those exams without being able to use them and now we have to buy more Accuplacer exams. Ken said he is going to mention this to Susan Clough.
Next Meeting is Tuesday, May 12th at 3pm in Cottonwood 100
