PUBLIC NOTICE

TOWN OF BRAINTREE WATER & SEWER DEPARTMENT HYDRANT FLUSHING PROGRAM

The Braintree Water & Sewer Dept will be conducting its hydrant-flushing program beginning on Sunday, May 15, 2011 continuing until completed. The work will be performed Sunday through Thursday, 9:00 PM – 3:00 AM each week.

PRECINCT 1 WILL BEGIN SUNDAY, MAY 15, 2011

CHECK THE TOWN OF BRAINTREE WEBSITE WWW.BRAINTREEMA.GOV FOR UPDATES. THIS WILL INFORM YOU AS TO WHEN FLUSHING WILL OCCUR IN THE NEXT PRECINCT.

This activity will cause discolored water in varying degrees in all sections of the Town. DO NOT DO LAUNDRY DURING FLUSHING HOURS. AFTERWARDS, RUN YOUR WATER FIRST TO SEE IF IT HAS CLEARED. Persons who experience water discoloration should clear their water systems by opening the OUTSIDE FAUCET CLOSEST TO YOUR WATER METER for several minutes before using the water. If water is still not clear, they should repeat this flushing procedure.

Every effort will be made to keep inconvenience to users at a minimum. The Water & Sewer Dept cannot be responsible for any damages incurred as a result of this activity, which is necessary and a normal maintenance function of our water supply system as required by the Department of Environmental Protection.
