MOJAVE ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION CONSORTIUM WINS ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION AWARD Local organization recognized by North American Environmental Education Association

Victorville, CA, October 16, 2017– The Mojave Environmental Education Consortium (MEEC), a local organization in the field of environmental education, was recently recognized by the North American Association for Environmental Education (NAAEE), a global leader in environmental education. The Mojave Environmental Education Consortium was honored with the Award for Outstanding Service to Environmental Education by an Organization. This award is given to organizations that exemplify leadership in the field of environmental education.

The mission of the MEEC is to improve the environmental literacy of students, teachers, and community of the Mojave Desert region by providing high quality environmental STEM-based educational resources. Founded in 2001, MEEC provides free environmental resources and tools to educators and students throughout the High Desert. This includes the Youth Environmental Leadership STEM Conference, Solar Cooker Competition, Common Core and Next Generation curriculum, workshops, mini grants, transportation grants, scholarships, and essay contests.
