FORTY-TWO GRADUATES, INCLUDING FIRST HUSBAND-WIFE DUO, COMPRISE THE LATEST CLASS TO GRADUATE IN PGA PROFESSIONAL GOLF MANAGEMENT PROGRAM
PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. -- Forty-two graduates, representing 21 states, comprised the most recent class to advance through the PGA Professional Golf Management Program. The graduates were honored in ceremonies conducted May 18, at the PGA Education Center in Port St. Lucie, Fla.
Among the latest class were Daniel and Michelle Murphy of Milwaukie, Ore., the first husband-wife duo to advance to PGA membership while in the same class in the program. The Oregon couple is employed at Waverley Country Club in Portland, where Daniel, 54, serves as director of instruction and Michelle, who turned 43 on May 21, is an assistant professional. Michelle also is the women’s golf coach at the University of Portland.
The PGA Professional Golf Management program, which originated in 1996, has produced 8,207 graduates. Of that total, the PGA Education Center in Port St. Lucie has produced graduates since 2002 representing 48 states, Canada, The District of Columbia, Germany, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Norway, Puerto Rico, South Korea, Spain, The Netherlands and the Virgin Islands.
