Clinical Trainer Community Health Centers of Greater Dayton (CHCGD) is a non-profit health care organization whose mission is improving lives by providing preventative and primary health care services to those in need, regardless of ability to pay. We have an exciting opportunity as a Clinical Trainer. The Clinical Trainer is responsible for the initial training and orientation of new clinical staff (MA, LPN, and RN) on policies, processes and procedures, and for the NextGen EHR system. This position will be responsible for ongoing clinical training and competency evaluations with existing staff, and monitor online training.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities  Assist Practice Managers in evaluating candidate’s basic clinical skills during the interviewing process, including temporaries.  Provide education and training of clinical skills for new clinical staff, including checklists for clinical skills, policy reviews and immunization training. Provide feedback to managers about new hires at the completion of training.  Assist Practice Managers with annual review of clinical skills for MAs and LPNs. Helps to develop training plans for new and existing staff as needed. Evaluate staff members struggling with particular issues and provide managers with feedback about employee.  Participate in the planning of ongoing staff development programs focusing on improving quality of service provided to the patients. Work with the Medical Director, QA Manager and Practice Managers to adjust/create training programs that address areas of concern. Implement those changes with new and existing staff.  Coordinates scheduling, training process, and training programs for clinical externs. Works with the schools on training programs for externs.  Provides training to all clinical and PSR staff who use the EMR, both new and ongoing by developing a training program, producing and updating written EMR materials, providing technical support to staff regarding EMR issues, and providing system upgrade coaching and support.

The ideal candidate for this position will posses excellent verbal and written communication skills, excellent w orking knowledge of clinical processes and procedures, previous experience with adult training techniques, excellent computer skills in MS Office, including Excel and Word and a thorough knowledge of the EHR s ystem, particularly for the clinical staff.

Associates degree in medical assisting with a minimum of 2-3 years’ experience required, licensed nurse (LPN or RN) in the State of Ohio preferred, along with current CPR certification. Previous EHR experience required, specifically in clinical area; experience with NextGen preferred. Salary commensurate with experience.
