PE Scope & Sequence 6-8 Physical Education UNIT 1 TITLE: Fitness Testing NUMBER OF DAYS: 7 POWER STANDARDS

6.EHMP.1C Describe target heart rate as it relates to cardio respiratory endurance

6.EHMP.3A Identify and describe reasons for using proper warm-up, cool-down, stretching, and appropriate attire in a physical activity setting

7.EHMP.1C Identify the FITT principle (frequency, intensity, time, type) and how it relates to exercise

8.EHMP.3A Investigate the safe and unsafe practices of using fitness equipment (e.g., weight room, fitness balls, step aerobics)
