ASSOCIATE HEADTEACHER - Leadership Spine 25-30

1. General Purpose of the Post

The Associate Headteacher will:

(i) Undertake some of the duties demanded in the Executive Headteacher’s Job Description;

(ii) Contribute to the vision and leadership of the school in order to ensure continued progress;

(iii) Be accountable for continuous improvement in the overall provision of a quality education and the achievement of all students;

(iv) Ensure consistency across all of the school;

(v) Be one of the main instruments in supporting the ethos of the whole school;

(i) Satisfy the aims of the school through the implementation of the policies of the governing body;

2. Leadership

The Associate Headteacher will:

(i) Have line management responsibility for some of the Assistant Headteachers;

(ii) Lead the development, monitoring and evaluation of the curriculum to ensure high quality and best value;

(iii) Lead the work with the LEA, the Partnership of Sutton Schools;

(iv) Lead the Combined Specialism;

(v) Advise and work with the governing body and committees on the formulation of its policies and their implementation.

3. Management

The Associate Headteacher will work with the Executive Headteacher to establish procedures that;

(i) Promote a positive ethos and a safe environment in which the highest achievements are expected from all members of the school community;

(ii) Promote good order, discipline and high morale throughout the school community;

(iii) Create and maintain good working relationships among all members of the school community through effective communication;

(iv) Recruit and select excellent staff;

(v) Ensure that budgets are effectively managed.
