Staying Sane While Planning Your Wedding

Part of the 2015-16 Couple & Relationship Therapy Practice Workshop Series Saturday, October 24, 2015 9:30-11:30 a.m. Buffalo, New York

Planning a wedding is an exciting time for you as an engaged couple, as you prepare for a day of celebration of your love for one another with family and friends. It also can be a stressful time. You are dealing with not only you and your partner’s dreams and expectations for the perfect wedding but also the expectations and voices of others, the financial concerns, juggling your regular jobs and commitments. All while addressing the challenges of joining families, households, and traditions. In addition, you want to Keep the Bliss Going after the big wedding day and honeymoon!

Join us for this fun and interactive workshop that will provide you with a Toolkit of tips, resources, and fun “tools” on staying sane while planning your wedding. Tips will be provided:  Helping you and your partner focus on your “couple voice” in the wedding planning process;  Navigating and negotiating staying on task, time, and within budget with vendors;  Managing family and friends’ voices and expectations;  Remembering “whose wedding it is anyway”;  How to de-stress; and  Instill humor into the wedding planning process.

Our lead facilitator, Andrea Agner, is currently pursuing her Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT), and in her previous career, co-owned and operated, Sisters Event Planning, helping many joyous couples plan their weddings and other events. Our co-facilitator, Rene Jones, LMFT, ABD, is the Director of Couple & Relationship Therapy Practice, with over 15 years of experience as a licensed marriage and family therapist and certified sex therapist. She is the program director for Medaille’s Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) program.
