Byrnes 17 High School football team nailed the 2011 Class AAAA State 18 Championship title, defeating Gaffney 3124 on December 3, 2011, 19 wrapping up the Rebels’ second consecutive title win; and 20 21 Whereas, Clemson University’s stadium echoed with the cheers of 22 exuberant Byrnes fans, pleased to see their confident predictions of 23 victory realized as a satisfying end to an outstanding season. By 24 the end of the title game, Rebel admirers were already looking 25 with anticipation to a “threepeat” next year; and 26 27 Whereas, such victories do not come overnight; they take 28 determination and hard work. With proven consistency in both, 29 Head Coach Chris Miller and his assistants have built their football 30 program into a championship team that refuses to settle for second 31 best; and 32 33 Whereas, making a scintillating season even brighter, Byrnes 34 defensive lineman Rashad Dillard was named HeraldJournal 35 Defensive Player of the Year; and 36 37 Whereas, the Rebels have brought great pride and recognition to 38 their school and community, and the members of the House of 39 Representatives are pleased to have this opportunity to recognize 40 such a wonderful group of young athletes. Now, therefore, 41 42 Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

[4598] 2 1 2 That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, 3 by this resolution, recognize and congratulate the James F. Byrnes 4 High School football team on its impressive win of the 2011 Class 5 AAAA State Championship title. 6 7 Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to 8 Principal Jeff Rogers and Head Coach Chris Miller of James F. 9 Byrnes High School. 10 XX 11
