Parker Youth, Inc. Board Minutes Sunday, Oct 2, 2011

Call To Order – 6:05 pm

Address Scheduled Guests - Annie Gleason, Dicks Sporting Goods. Offering sponsorship funds in exchange for some marketing, publicity, and the opportunity to sell equipment to our players. She will follow up with a proposal for us to evaluate.

Treasurer’s Report – Financials are solid. Will use Rocky Mountain Register instead of Paypal to collect our registration fees for big sports, mainly due to ease in setting rosters.

President’s Report – No report.

VPs Report – No report.

Administrative Assistants Report – Changed from Qwest to Verizon for internet service in the office. Now have a smart card that can be used anywhere. Internet access in the office has been a problem since we opened.

Bar CCC is open. Parker Youth donated $1500 to this project. Field will now hold 54/80 and accommodate 13 year- olds.

Challenger 3 now has a turf infield. Possible that men’s softball won’t like and it and we may get Salisbury fields taken away to accommodate those teams.

Spring / Summer sports need to get their field requests in by October 24th so Kristy can request permits starting the morning of November 1st.

CONTINUING BUSINESS

Committee Reports:

 Baseball – AYL voted to move some AAA/Majors games to weekends early in the season to get as many of the games completed to reduce the make ups during June. Teams will be offered four weekends that they can play, and will have to choose two of those weekends. AYL will follow USSSA regarding new bat rules. Bats must have a USSSA stamp on them.

 Volleyball – Still need sports coordinator. Tara has been providing information. Rich Nunn will take over if no one steps up.

Lacrosse - 7th / 8th grade tryouts going on now. Learn to Play lacrosse clinic being held a sports bubble on October 14th. Bring a friend that has never played lacrosse. DU team will participate. Registration opens in November.

 Football – Concussions remain an issue. Out of territory rule change for next year. Fewer out of territory players will be allowed. Super Bowl announcers are needed. Super Bowl is Nov 11/12 at Regis HS. Looking into having a Hawks night at one of the high school games before season ends.

 Softball – End of season tournament is going on now.

 Fall Baseball – Ends on Saturday. Playoffs begin next week and the season ends next weekend. Trophies are ordered. Season gone smooth.

 Basketball – Rostering teams now. 39 teams right now. Finding enough gym space to accommodate our needs is still a problem.

 CCC – Looks like issue regarding coach Dodd isn’t going very far. No one saw anything or can backup what he is being accused of. NEW BUSINESS:

Looking into adding sponsors to website. What would we charge. Hatcher will put together a suggested cost structure for next meeting.

Next meeting is Nov. 6th at 6PM. No December meeting.
