SUBJECT: Revisions to SOP 12.12 Respite Care Due to Regulatory Requirements

The purpose of this transmittal letter is to inform staff of revisions to SOP 12.12 Respite Care. The revisions were made to reflect the respite provider requirements in 922 KAR 1:350 Requirements for public child welfare agency foster parents, adoptive parents, and respite providers; and 922 KAR 1:495 Training requirements for foster parents, adoptive parents, and respite care providers for children in the custody of the cabinet. The procedures for selecting respite providers who are not approved as foster or adoptive home parents have also been added.
