Dear Choral Members and parents:

I am excited to announce that the Plainview-Kennedy Vocal Department will be having its annual summer choral clinic. The goal of the summer clinic is to create a positive learning atmosphere where students can gain confidence in singing while providing a high level musical experience. During the two weeks students will get to know each other and while becoming a unified choir. The choral clinic is open to incoming grades 6 through 12 and is held at Plainview-Kennedy High School.

The schedule will be: Week 1: Monday, August 1st through Thursday, August 4th - 6:30pm-8:30pm Week 2: Monday, August 8th through Thursday, August 12th - 6:30pm-9:00pm (with Guest Conductor, Mr. Ron Meixsell)

On Friday, August 12th there will be a free concert beginning at 8:00pm (students arrive at 6:30pm.) Parents and friends are encouraged to attend.

This fantastic program will be free of charge to all Plainview residents. I can assure you that the quality of this combined ensemble along with the quality of instruction will be at an extremely high level. While the quality level is high, this summer clinic is a relaxed environment where students are not pressured. Our rehearsal room will be air-conditioned!!!

I truly hope you choose to attend. This two-week summer workshop is a great opportunity for current choir members to gain leadership skills and for new and younger members to gain confidence and feel accepted into our fine tradition. As usual, we intend to create a positive learning environment and would hope that you choose to spend part of your summer with us!
