ITINERARY

Day 1: Lima Casa Andina Miraflores Centro or Similar Upon arrival in Lima, transfer to the hotel and check in. The remainder of the day will be at your own leisure to enjoy. (Meal: N/A)

Day 2: Lima Casa Andina Miraflores Centro or Similar This morning, take a half day city tour. Visit both the colonial and modern sections of this "City of Kings". Colonial sites include the lovely Plaza de Armas with its cathedral and palace; and the exquisite Torre Tagle Palace, modern day seat of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In modern Lima drive through the exclusive residential areas of Miraflores and San Isidro. Return to the hotel and the afternoon will be at your own leisure to enjoy. (Meal: Breakfast)

Day 3: Lima Casa Andina Miraflores Centro or Similar In the morning, a drive along the Pan-American Highway with its views across the beautiful Pacific beaches will take you years back. Visit to the pre-Inca ruins of Pachacamac considered by many to be the most important archaeological site near Lima. Four hundred years before the Incas, the Ishmay culture developed a major ceremonial center, featuring streets, dozens of temples fitted with ramps and the Painted Temple. Return to the hotel and the afternoon will be at your own leisure to enjoy. (Meal: Breakfast)

Day 4: Lima - Cuzco Casa Andina Cusco Plaza or Similar Today, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Cuzco. Upon arrival transfer to the hotel and check. The afternoon will be free for you to explore the city. In the late afternoon, enjoy the best combination of Peruvian Novo-Andean dinner and folkloric show at the Tunupa Cusco Restaurant. Day 5: Cuzco Casa Andina Cusco Plaza or Similar This morning, take a half day city tour. Visitors are caught up in the excitement of touring the ancient capital of the Inca Empire, a delightful combination of Inca and colonial architecture. The tour visits important landmarks such us Cusco's Cathedral, Plaza de Armas and Koricancha "The Temple of the Sun". This tour of the oldest continuously inhabited city in the western hemisphere also includes the nearby ruins of Kenko, Puca- Pucara, Tambomachay as well as the Sacsayhuaman fortress, an imposing example of Inca military architecture. Return to the hotel and the afternoon will be at your own leisure to enjoy. (Meal: Breakfast)

Cuzco - Sacred Valley - Day 6: Casa Andina Cusco Plaza or Cuzco Similar Morning departure for a drive through the fertile countryside to the colonial village of Pisac. During your visit to the bustling marketplace you will have the opportunity to bargain with the natives for many different types of Peruvian handicrafts and jewelry. After lunch the tour continues to the village of Ollantaytambo for a visit to its impressive Inca fortress. (Meal: Breakfast, Lunch)

Cuzco - Machu Picchu - Day 7: Casa Andina Cusco Plaza or Cuzco Similar Early wake up for a train ride through the sacred valley of Urubamba to the "Lost City of the Incas," Machu Picchu. Perched 8,200 feet above the valley, it was hidden by mountains and semi-tropical jungles for 400 years until discovered by Hiram Bingham of Yale University in 1911. Archaeologists believe that the Inca "Virgins of the Sun" took refuge from the Spanish Conquistadors here. (Meal: Breakfast, Lunch)

Day 8: Cuzco - Home Today, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight back home as your trip comes to an end. (Meal: Breakfast)
