The Executive of the Year Award is its most 28 esteemed honor and is given each year to one individual from each 29 state; and 30 31 Whereas, Henri Campbell is the Executive Director of the 32 Clarendon County Chamber of Commerce, and under her 33 leadership the Chamber has thrived. She has helped in the creation 34 and continuation of projects such as an anti-litter program, the 35 promotion of tourism, and the Mural Task Force which includes 36 long-range plans to have local citizens paint murals throughout the 37 county; and 38 39 Whereas, Henri also works with the Education Committee of the 40 Chamber, which awards five college scholarships to outstanding 41 high school seniors. The Chamber also recognizes the Teachers of 42 the Year in Clarendon County at an annual Salute to Education

1 [4355] 1 1 Banquet and serves as the fiscal agent for Communities in Schools, 2 a program which provides tutoring and mentoring programs to area 3 children; and 4 5 Whereas, Henri Campbell knows how to get the members of the 6 community involved. Chamber membership has increased forty 7 percent since she became Executive Director, and attendance at the 8 Annual Chamber Retreat has increased by one hundred percent; 9 and 10 11 Whereas, other dedicated executives of the Clarendon County 12 Chamber of Commerce include George Summers, President; 13 Jeffrey Black, President-elect; Dr. Scott Brown, Past President; 14 and board members, Ann Kirven, W. Tommy Geddings, Jr., 15 Michael Ouzts, Brett Frazier, Dennis Craven, Fin Coffey, Stacey 16 McInnis, Joseph Witt, Cleve Dowell, John Bassard, and Alana 17 Majors; and 18 19 Whereas, Clarendon County is fortunate to have such a wonderful 20 person as a leader in the community, and the House of 21 Representatives is proud to commend Henrietta Campbell on her 22 receipt of this prestigious award. Now, therefore, 23 24 Be it resolved by the House of Representatives: 25 26 That the members of the House of Representatives, by this 27 resolution, commend and congratulate Henrietta Campbell of 28 Clarendon County on being named South Carolina Executive of 29 the Year by the Carolinas Association of Chamber of Commerce 30 Executives and thank her for her work in and dedication to her 31 community. 32 33 Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to 34 Henrietta Campbell. 35 ----XX----
