When: Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday mornings from 6:50 a.m. to 7:35 a.m. in the school gym. Times and dates are subject to change in order to accommodate the number of participants. Format: Six on six (including the goalie) indoor soccer. Teams need to have a minimum of 6 players. 7th , 8th and 9th grade teams (if you mix the grades we will go with the higher grade); Team rosters must be in to Coach Steele by Friday Jan 15th . Teams that do not have their roster in by this day will not be playing. Team names are subject to being changed if they are in any way inappropriate or offensive. Rules: A team will automatically forfeit if they do not have at least 3 players by the scheduled game time. Two forfeits will result in permanent withdrawal from the intramural indoor soccer program. A player/team may be removed from the intramural program by the coaches or administration based on unsportsman-like conduct. Remember, this is not a required part of education and is a privilege. A player may be removed from play due to injury and not allowed to return without a Doctor=s consent. It is important that all participants make known to an intramural advisor any injury that may prevent safe participation. By signing this agreement you are pledging that you will report injuries when they occur. It is up to the participating teams to be their own officials. Sportsmanship is extremely important. If disagreements cannot be handled by the teams involved, final decisions will be made by the intramural advisors. Parents are welcome to attend games but may not get involved in coaching or officiating. A brief outline of the playing rules: If the ball hits the ceiling it will result in a free kick for the opposing team. Any checking or extreme use of the shoulders will result in a free kick. Body checking an opponent into the wall or bleachers may result in removal from the intramural program. If the defense plays the ball back to the goalie, the goalie may not use their hands, unless the defense played the ball back with their head. The goalie must always wear the mesh jersey. Substitutions may be made at any time. If the ball is trapped behind the bleachers it may be picked up and thrown back into play. There are no out of bounds. It is expected that all players involved be given the opportunity to play. Trash talking will not be allowed. Vulgar or offensive language will result in dismissal. Please be aware of dangerous areas of the gym that will be marked with the orange safety cones. When the ball is in this area, slow down and play safe. Have fun, be safe, and play good soccer! By signing your name you agree that you have read the information on the other side of this paper and to play by the rules. You also agree that to the best of your knowledge you are physically able to participate safely. Please print clearly your team name and your team members names. If your team name is in any way inappropriate, the intramural advisors will ask you to change it. Team name:______Player name Player signature Grade
