Snatchers arrested : In two separate incidents North-East Distt. Police arrested two snatchers yesterday.

In the first case,New Usmanpur Police arrested one Ravi 19 years old, R/o Vijay Colony, Jagjit Nagar, Delhi when he was trying to flee after snatching mobile phone of one Arjun Kumar, R/o Vijay Colony, New Usmanpur.

In another case, Shahdara Police arrested one Lalit Sirohi, 21year old, R/o Panchsheel Garden, Naveen Shahdara, Delhi, while he was trying to escape after snatching Rs. 2400/- of one Rakesh, 29 years R/o Panchseel Garden Naveen Shahdara, Delhi from near his shop.

EX- PRIVATE SECURITY MAN IMPERSONATING AS TRAFFIC COP ARRESTED BY NORTH EAST DISTRICT

Subhash Chand AGED 32 years, S/O Virender Singh R/O Village Behta Hazipur Kachi Colony Loni Ghaziabad UP impersonating as traffic cop arrested by North East District. He had earlier worked with a security agency and taking benefit of that experience was involved in extorting money from the innocent commercial vehicle driver impersonating as a traffic cop. Rs. 500/-, Fake Uniform of Traffic Police wore by him and certain documents have been recovered from his possession.

TIME AND INCIDENT

On 27/05/08, SI Girish Gothwal along with HC Sudhir No. 1421/NE of were performing patrolling duty in the area of Police Station New Usman Pur, Delhi. At about 7.45 P.M. they overhead the commotion and noticed a person was chasing other person at Shastri Park Red Light, Main Road Pushta, New Usman Pur, Delhi. The local police managed to overpower the person being chased who identified as Subhash Chand s/o Virender Singh r/o Village Behnta Hazipur, Kachhi Colony, Loni, Ghaziabad, UP. Age- 32 yrs

On enquiry from the follower namely Ashok Bhasin s/o Tilak Raj r/o L-35, Pratap Nagar, Andha Mugal, Delhi-7 it was revealed that he was the owner of blue line bus No. DL-1-PA-6662, route No. 939 plying between Mangol Puri to Anand Vihar. He was going to Seema Puri for some repairing work in bus along with his driver. At Red Light of Shastri Park, one man in Traffic Police uniform stopped their bus and directed him to show the documents of bus and threatened him to implicate him for suspending the permit if he will not pay the money. He extorted a sum of Rs. 500/- from him. In the meanwhile the driver of the bus also came there and pointed out that he is the same person who had already extorted money from him at Ajmeri Gate Chowk earlier. This raised suspicion in their mind that he is not a person of traffic police, so he asked him to show his identity card which he did not and tried to ran away after criminal assaulted on the left eye brow of the driver. The duped fellows start chasing him with shouting Nakli Police, Pakdo-Pakdo”. The local police staff patrolling in the surrounding over powered Subhash Chand and on his search the extorted money Rs. 500/- was recovered from the pocket of Blue pent wore by the accused person. He was found wearing fake uniform of traffic police,i.e, white shirt consisting a red whistle cord and blue pent along with one belt of black colour having monogram of Delhi Police i.e. DP, The accused has impersonated himself as a traffic police personnel and extorted money from general public. On this, a case FIR No. 126/08 dated 27/05/08 u/s 171/384/419/420/324IPC IPC has been registered and being investigated. .

Seizure/Recovery: 1. Rs 500/- extorted money. 2. Fake uniform of traffic police, which is white shirt consisting a red whistle cord and blue pent along with one lather belt of black colour having monogram of Delhi Police i.e. DP. 3. Two papers on which accused personally mentioned the names of senior police officials, used to show to the drivers on road to extort money from them.

Profile Subhash Chand Aged 32 years, S/O Virender Singh R/O Village Behta Hazipur Kachi Colony Loni Ghaziabad UP has studied upto 12th class and arrived in Delhi six years ago. He is married and four children. He was previously engaged in security duty. He has previously been arrested by North District.

INTERSTATE GANG OF AUTO LIFTERS ARRESTED

EIGHT CARS RECOVERED : receiver also arrested

Delhi Police, South District has busted a gang of Interstate auto lifters and arrested four autolifters involved in autolifting from different parts of Delhi. Implements of autolifting like drilling machine and duplicate keys have also been recovered from their possession. Three of the accused are receivers of stolen vehicles who further used to sell these vehicles have also been arrested.

ACCUSED ARRESTED :

1. Nanak Singh @ Bittoo, age 28 years s/o Santokh Singh r/o RZ-G- 59, Vishwas Park, Uttam Nagar, Delhi.

2. Deepak Kapoor @ Bawa @ Babloo, age 30 years s/o Madan Lal r/o Ward No. 6, R.S. Pura, Jammu.

3. Ikram @ Bhoora, age 26 years s/o Late Mohd. Islam r/o 525, Surti Ganj, Meerut, U.P.

4. Amit Vaid, age , age 27 years s/o Jagannath Vaidh r/o H. No. 82, Balmiki Basti, Kankhal, Haridwar INCIDENT & TEAM

In view of the increasing incidents of auto lifting, in and around Delhi, a team comprising of SI Ram Manohar, SI Ashish Dalal, HCs Harish Chander and Amrish Kumar, Consts. Satbir Bhati, Om Prakash, Ram Kishan, Dharmender and Gulab headed by Inspr. Joginder Kumar, SHO/Kalkaji under close supervision of Sh. Rakesh Paweriya, ACP/kalkaji was constituted.

On 18.05.08, during special night checking by installing barricades, a silver colour Maruti Esteem car bearing Registration No. DL-6CG-6936 was signalled to stop for checking but the driver of the car negotiated the barricade and drove off at full speed towards 7/5 Picket, in the area of P.S. Kalkaji. Immediately; the staff on 7/5 picket were alerted. The vehicle was intercepted and the driver was asked to produce the papers of the vehicle to which he failed. On checking the registration No. of the vehicle from Auto Match, it was found to be stolen from P.S. C.R. Park area vide FIR No. 425/07 u/s 379 IPC. A case vide FIR No. 229 u/s 411 IPC PS Kalkaji was registered and investigation taken up. The accused was identified as Nanak Singh @ Bittoo, age 28 years s/o Santokh Singh r/o RZ-G-59, Vishwas Park, Uttam Nagar, Delhi.

INTERROGATION & MODUS OPEANDI

On sustained interrogation, the accused disclosed that he had been indulging in auto lifting since 2003 and was arrested at P.S. Vikas Puri. He had been stealing the vehicles and disposing off the same in other states with the help of the above mentioned three accused. The receivers used to collect accidental vehicles and direct Nanak Singh to steal vehicle of similar make, model and colour. After stealing the vehicles Nanak Singh use to deliver the vehicles to Ikram @ Bhoora at Meerut who used to emboss the engine and chasis number of the accidental vehicle on the stolen vehicle and the same were sold to innocent buyers through Deepak Kapoor and Amit Vaid as genuine. The accidental vehicles were dismantled and its parts were sold in the Kabari Market, Meerut. PROFILE

Accused Nanak Singh was a school dropout residing at Uttam Nagar he was first arrested in a case of Autolifting in the year 2003 at P.S. Vikas Puri. He used to steal the vehicles as per the demand placed by accused Ikram and Amit Vaid.

Accused Ikram @ Bhoora was a school dropout. Earlier he used to assist his father at their Meat Shop at Meerut. He came in contact of accused Nanak Singh and used to purchase accidental/damaged cars from insurance company and individuals and place order to Nanak Singh to provide stolen vehicles of similar make, model and colour. They use to emboss the fake engine and chasis number and sell it to innocent people.

Accused Amit Vaid was also school dropout who earlier assisted his father at their Auto mobile workshop at Haridwar. He came into contact with Ikram and indulged in the crime.

Accused Deepak Kapoor was Sub-Inspector in J&K Police was dismissed from service after his educational certificates proved to be fake.

RECOVERY

Eight Cars and two stolen Motorcycles have been recovered at their instance. The details of the vehicles are being verified.

INTERSTATE GANG OF AUTO LIFTERS BUSTED : 10 STOLEN VEHICLES RECOVERED

INTRODUCTION

With the arrest of 3 persons namely 1) Dalbir Singh @ Gurpreet Singh @ Happy S/o Salvinder Singh R/o Distt. Nainital, Uttrakhand (2) Charanjeet Singh @ Channa S/o Harjeet Singh R/o Bilaspur Distt. Rampur U.P. and (3) Jogender Singh @ Joni S/o Trilok Singh R/o Baljeet Nagar Delhi, the Crime Branch has busted a notorious interstate gang of Auto thieves active in North-West, West and Outer Distt. of Delhi and recovered 6 cars and 4 motorcycles from their possession. With their arrest many cases of auto thefts have been solved. INCIDENT & TEAM Seeing the increasing incidents of auto lifting in the various parts of Delhi the Special Team of Crime Branch was asked to look into such matters and unearth the auto lifting gangs active in the area of Delhi. A Police team comprising of SIs Bhaskar Sharma, Anjay Tomar, HCs Lakhwinder, Suresh, Jai Bhagwan, Cts Sanjay, Pawan, Hari Ram and Ravinder Singh under the close supervision of Sh. Sanjay Bhatia, ACP/Special Team was constituted. The Police team worked the notorious gang for about 6 months. On 18.05.2008 the Police team received a secret information about the accused Charanjeet Singh @ Channa. On this a raiding party was constituted. In a professionally out operation, accused Charanjeet Singh @ Channa and Jogender Singh @ Jony were apprehended near Rohini Jail while they were riding motorcycle stolen from P.S. Patel Nagar, further the main gang leader Dalbir Singh @ Gurpreet Singh @ Happy was also arrested.

INTERROGATION : On sustained interrogation the accused persons have disclosed about theft of more than 100 vehicles from Delhi. On their instance 2 cars ( Maruti-800) from Khatima Uttranchal, 2 cars (Maruti-800) from Bilaspur U.P., 2 cars ( Indica and Indigo) and 3 motorcycles (Pulsar and Discoter) from Delhi have been recovered. They further disclosed that they used to dispose off these stolen vehicles in Nepal through one Nagpal Joshi.

MODUS OPERANDI :

This gang is active in the area of North-West, Outer and West Districts of Delhi. They mainly target pulsar motorcycle. The members of this gang use to break the handle lock and take the motorcycle to Dhangari, Nepal and use to sell out for Rs.15000 to 17000/- their counter parts in Nepal are namely, Kishan Bhoprai, Lokender, Shyam, Shah. In the last 10 years this gang has supplied more than 100 motorcycles and cars to Nepal.

This gang has unique modus operandi to dispose off the stolen Maruti 800 cars. They used to purchase old Maruti 800 car at cheap rates and use to replace the engine of genuine car with stolen chassis. The accused Charanjeet @ Channa who is a car mechanic used to replace the engine and all the parts of the chassis having chassis number on it with the bought car and then they use to sell the car to the innocent buyer in this way they have cheated three persons.

PROFILE OF ARRESTED ACCUSED :

1. Dalbir Singh @ Gurpreet Singh @ Happy is notorious auto thief and is engaged in this trade for last 10 years and in association with his associates he had stolen about 120 motorcycles. He mainly steals black pulser motorcycle as they are in demand in Nepal. He has previously been arrested in Delhi and U.P.

2. Charanjeet Singh @ Channa is mainly a car mechanic. He joined the gang of Dalbir Singh and use to take the vehicles to Nepal and use to make necessary changes in the stolen vehicles.

RECOVERY:

1. 6 cars (4 Maruti-800, 1 Indigo, 1 Indica), 2. 4 motorcycles (Pulsar and Discover).

ONE ARRESTED FOR SELLING DUPLICATE PRODUCTS OF HINDUSTAN LIVER LTD.: DUPLICATE PRODUCTS WORTH APPROX 5 LACS RECOVERED.

With the arrest of Ajay Kumar, aged 40 years s/o Om Prakash r/o H. No. 9943, Nawab Ganj, Delhi, North District police has busted a racket involved in selling duplicate products of Hindustan Liver Ltd. Duplicate products worth approx. Rs. 5 lacs have been recovered from the his possession.

TEAM AND THE INCIDENT

A team consisting of SI Narender Khatri, DIU/North, HC Jai Singh and Ct. Hemant Kumar was constituted under the close supervision of Sh. S. S. Malik, ACP/DIU/North District, Delhi.

On the basis of a specific information regarding a racket involved in the dealing and selling of spurious/duplicate products of Hindustan Liver Ltd. in North District, the above team was formed.

On the basis of the discreet enquiry and after confirming the input, at about 3 PM the police team apprehended one person namely Ajay Kumar and on the search of his godown at G-12, Sri Ram Palace Market, Teliwara Chowk, Delhi 1319 pieces of duplicate Ponds Dreamflower Talcum Powder, 96 pieces of duplicate Ponds Magic Talcum Powder, 660 bottles of duplicate Ayurvedic Himani Navratna Oil, 4428 pieces of duplicate Ujala Supreme whitener, 739 bottles of duplicate Himganga Ayurvedic Oil, 2148 pieces of duplicate Lakme Radiance cream, 3030 pieces of Fair & Lovely cream and 450 duplicate empty tubes of Fair & Lovely were recovered. A case under Copy Rights Act was registered at PS Bara Hindu Rao in this regard and the investigation was taken up.

INVESTIGATION AND THE INTERROGATION

During sustained interrogation, accused person revealed his identity as Ajay Kumar s/o Om Prakash r/o H. No. 9943, Nawab Ganj, Delhi. He informed that he is running a wholesale outlet of these duplicate products of Hindustan Liver Ltd. in the area of Sadar Bazaar. Further, he informed that he is storing these duplicate products at his above rented godown. He had started selling these duplicate products in order to earn quick money, as he was able to sell it from the wholesale market in Sadar Bazaar, which is a hub of wholesale market in old Delhi. In addition to Delhi, these products are also being supplied in adjoining states of Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. The total value of the seized goods is approx Rs 5 lacs.

Further investigation / interrogation is in progress.

RECOVERY

1. 1319 pieces of duplicate Ponds Dreamflower Talcum Powder. 2. 96 pieces of duplicate Ponds Magic Talcum Powder. 3. 660 bottles of duplicate Ayurvedic Himani Navratna Oil. 4. 4428 pieces of duplicate Ujala Supreme whitener. 5. 739 bottles of duplicate Himganga Ayurvedic Oil. 6. 2148 pieces of duplicate Lakme Radiance cream. 7. 3030 pieces of Fair & Lovely cream 8. 450 duplicate empty tubes of Fair & Lovely

PROFILE

Ajay Kumar, s/o Om Prakash r/o H. No. 9943, Nawab Ganj, Delhi is 40 years old. He used to sell cosmetic items in the area of Sadar Bazaar on Patri. Later on, he purchased a shop in the area of Sadar Bazar four years back and also hired a godown in Shri Ram Market, Sadar Bazar. He started running a wholesale outlet of these duplicate products of Hindustan Liver Ltd. in this shop and used to store these duplicate products at his above rented godown. He had started selling these duplicate products in order to earn quick money.
