Site Director JOB SUMMARY:

Vertellus is currently seeking a Site Director to be located at our manufacturing facility in Halebank (Liverpool), United Kingdom. This role will lead the site team to ensure that the product portfolio is manufactured safely/environmentally, to the required quality and cost standards, and in sufficient quantity to meet customer demands. RESPONSIBILITIES:  Maintain the highest possible standards of Health, Safety & Environmental in accordance with company policy, and statutory requirements for Health and Safety at Work Act, Control of Major Accident Hazards, COSHH, Environmental and personal protection regulations.  Manage operations by directing and coordinating activities consistent with established goals, objectives and policies. Lead and direct managers, engineers, professionals and administrative employees.  Maintain authority over budget scheduling.  Foster positive industrial relations through effective relationships with employees at all levels and ensure that the team are trained in all aspects of their work.  Lead improvements in efficiency and the work environment by encouraging/initiating projects to ensure attainment of the business plan, driving cost reduction programmes to improve efficiency, reduce operating costs and plant downtime.

QUALIFICATIONS:  Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering and/or equivalent experience  Graduate or post graduate level education preferred  Excellent working knowledge of a chemical manufacturing plant with batch production experience  Knowledgeable in Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing tools, principles and best practices  Proven track record in Health, Safety and Environmental processes, improvements and sustainability  Strong communication and leadership skills  Strong understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and other policies and procedures  Reasonable planning skill and understanding of the financial aspects of the job
