Technical Assistant Role

We have an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated technical assistant to join our technical team at our Knaresborough site. As part of our technical team, you will enable our manufacturing team to make and deliver our great quality products.

Responsible for optimising the process, you will support quality assurance and the continuous improvement of standards and systems. You will be involved in all aspects of the department including raw material testing, finished product evaluation, GMP compliance along with the processing, investigation and follow through of internal incidents and customer complaints. You will also be involved in monitoring both process control and the quality system along with assisting in HACCP systems and internal auditing.

Essential Criteria

 You will have accuracy and attention to detail with a numerate approach to provide data on time in the correct format  Be able to challenge where appropriate and to trouble-shoot product and process issues constructively, logically and effectively  Be confident and able to articulate via the phone and face to face with an array of staffing from production floor staff to senior managers  You will be very well organised and undertake tasks with enthusiasm and take pride in your work  You will be tenacious and proactive  A great team player and excellent interpersonal skills

Qualifications and Experience

 You will be food technology, food science or related area graduate or have experience gained within a food production and processing company  Knowledge of HACCP, Level 2 trained . Food Safety Level 2 trained

Beneficial Criteria

 Knowledge of a Quality Management System  Be able to carry out internal audits against the QMS  Be familiar with GMP standards and ensure compliance  Be familiar with BRC standard and its requirements

The role is permanent with a 6month probationary period and will be over a 40hour week.

Hours: Mon – Fri 9 to 5

Salary: Depends upon experience £25,000 per annum
