System-Wide Accessibility Weekly Update For week of Sunday 1/9/11-Saturday 1/15/11

General:

 Met with Labor Relations Department to discuss discipline process for Class I violations  Met with Bus Operations Training School to review upcoming Bus Recertification

Design and Engineering:

 The following plans were reviewed and comments submitted o Review comments for Wollaston Station as a result of site inspection with respect to the proposed installation of new elevators o Elevator Design Standards with specifications, along with many comments o Building Code Analysis along with other codes on Redundant and Replacement Elevator Program

 Site Inspections/Site Visits o Lechmere Station (mobile lift on outbound platform, mini-high platform on inbound platform, new accessible parking spaces with crosswalks blocked with snow mounds, etc.) o Science Park Station (temporary stairs, handrails, etc.) Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority o Copley Station (verify mobile lifts on two platforms,Ten Park Plaza, Boston, MA 02116 elevator issues, etc.) www.mbta.com  Meetings o Project review meeting on South Shore Garages (three garages - 30% Design) with Operations, Design & Construction and Engineering & Maintenance o Meeting with the MBTA Planning Department on proposed parking garage at Haverhill Commuter Rail Station.

Customer Complaints:

Tracked 9 customer complaints; 7 complainants.  8 Fixed Route  1 THE RIDE  2 Fixed Route complaints forwarded to Office of Diversity & Civil Rights (ODCR) for investigation  1 fixed route commendation

Internal Access Monitoring Program:

 11 Monitors conducted 43 trips throughout all of fixed route system (39 Bus; 4 Subway)  Continued preparing quarterly internal monitoring reports  Scanned 95 completed monitoring forms

Reduced Fare CharlieCard Program Activity

 Issued 662 reduced-fare CharlieCards:  393 Senior CharlieCards  246 Transportation Access Pass (TAP) CharlieCards  13 Blind Access CharlieCards  10 “THE RIDE” CharlieCards  Processed 125 account deposits for customers of the
