POSITION SUMMARY: The Program Coordinator holds a key position in the organization. Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Program Coordinator collaborates with the Executive Director and the Board of Trustees to support and promote the organization’s mission by carrying out key tasks to keep the programs, services, class activities and fundraising operating smoothly to ensure a quality experience for the Leadership Geauga community. The Program Coordinator is specifically responsible to manage the Leadership Geauga Youth Class and respective youth days. As a member of a small, highly engaged team, this position requires energy, self- direction and a team commitment. Working as a front line member of the organization, this position is expected to represent the organization with professional demeanor and appearance at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS: An example of acceptable qualifications: Committed to the mission, vision, and values of Leadership Geauga County. High School Diploma or equivalent required; prefer Bachelor’s Degree or significant work toward such degree. Willingness to take additional educational courses or participate in professional development. Knowledge of Geauga County with the ability to successfully interact with business, government, social service, civic, and agricultural leaders as it relates to the scope of the position. Basic Fundraising skills. Ability to work both collaboratively and independently - assignments vary - with skills to manage time and resources effectively. Positive attitude and willingness to learn, develop, and contribute. Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite or equivalent, QuickBooks data entry and reporting. Exceptional written, oral communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. Strong creativity and organizational skills required.

LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Must possess a valid Ohio Driver’s license; must maintain insurability under Leadership Geauga’s insurance policy.

EQUIPMENT OPERATED: The following are examples only and are not intended to be all inclusive: Modern office equipment (e.g., computer, typewriter, copier, calculator, telephone, fax machine, etc.); computer software (e.g. Microsoft Office applications, Quick Books, etc.).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Note: In accordance with the U.S. Department of Labor physical demands strength ratings, this is considered sedentary work. Ability to navigate steps, sight, and hearing within normal range, capable to lift and carry up to forty (40) pounds for short distances.

WORK SCHEDULE Work Schedule: Flexible, up to 20 hours per week or as arranged by Executive Director. The schedule for each week will be submitted by the coordinator and approved by ED the week prior. Additional paid hours may be requested for special events. Ability to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends as necessary.

JOB DESCRIPTION AND WORKER CHARACTERISTICS: JOB DUTIES in order of importance

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION: For purposes of 42 USC 12101:

35% (1) Coordinate, direct, and provide overall management of Leadership Geauga Youth Program, specifically, direct Youth Program recruitment, coordinate schedule and speakers, arrange hospitality and evaluate effectiveness of the program days (with support from the Executive Director).

(2) Adult Program Support to include but not limited to: Hospitality at anchor programs and recruiting events, administrative support for all programs, evaluation reporting for all programs, attend all anchor programs, and attendance at issue day programs for youth and adult as requested by Executive Director.

35% (3) Coordinate and implement office services such as payroll, purchasing, records control, projects and budget accounting operations. Process income from multiple sources for alumni dues, event tickets, corporate sponsors and others as needed. Reconcile credit card and bank accounts on a monthly basis. Prepare and deliver bi-weekly summary of expenses and income for ED.

(4) Fundraising event support to include but not limited to Invitation / Save-the-Date coordination and mailing, ticket sales, any necessary seating charts, post-event participation with clean up and organization, post-event thank you mailings and donation receipts. Prize letters, donation solicitation and acquisition (including mailings, emails and phone calls) as requested.

(5) Recruit, facilitate, organize, and overall, direct and manage alumni and volunteer involvement as an integral component of all program and offerings, in coordination with Executive Director.

20% (6) Social Media updates and general marketing as requested.

(7) General Administrative tasks including but not limited to: Office supply inventory and ordering, filing, mailings, copying, basic office organization.

(8) Attends committee meetings in a participative and supportive role.

5% (9) Maintains required licensures, certification, and continuing education requirements, if any.

(10) Meets all job safety requirements and all applicable safety standards that pertain to essential functions.

(11) Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

(13) Attends staff meetings as assigned.

NOTE: May be required to be on call 24 hours a day, as necessary.

MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE CHARACTERISTICS:
