SINGAPORE NOVEMBER MEETING 2017

SUNDAY, 26 NOVEMBER 2017

STATE OF GOING : STRATHAYR TURF (SHORT COURSE B) (GOOD : ALL OTHER RACES) (YIELDING : RACES 7 & 10)

POLYTRACK (GOOD)

RACE 1 [TF1506] CLASS 5 SC (B) 1400M DIVISION 1

NICATOR (K A'Isisuhairi) was slightly slow to begin after shifting outwards when making contact with GENERAL CONATUS (M Rodd) on jumping.

DESTINY KNIGHT (App H Syafiq), which jumped away awkwardly, steadied off the heels of GET GOING (App S Shafrizal), which rolled outwards.

RACING TALENT (M Ewe) and RAPTOR (B Vorster) bumped on jumping.

Shortly after passing the 1200m, GENERAL CONATUS, which was carried outwards slightly, had to be steadied off the heels of LEONARDO (App T See), which shifted inwards.

Approaching the 800m, RACING TALENT, which was racing keenly had to be eased when crowded between SUPERMART (App K Nuh) and LEONARDO, which shifted inwards. This resulted in RACING TALENT making contact with SUPERMART and losing ground.

The Farrier reported that NICATOR returned having cast its near-fore plate.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on GREATBALLS OF FIRE (App P Dellorto) which revealed that the horse returned lame off-fore. GREATBALLS OF FIRE will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on SIR REGINALD (V Duric) which revealed no apparent abnormality.

1 RACE 2 [TF1507] OPEN MAIDEN POLYTRACK 1100M

Trainer HK Tan, when questioned regarding the significant increase in the body weight of CHAMPION TEAM (TH Koh), stated that the gelding was having its first start for him after returning from a short spell. He added that CHAMPION TEAM had progressed well during training and had worked well. He also added that CHAMPION TEAM was, in his opinion, fit to start. A Pre- Race veterinary examination passed CHAMPION TEAM fit to race.

SPEEDY DEMON (App CS Chin), which was fractious in the barrier, will be required to pass one starting stall test prior to being declared to race again in terms of MRA Rule 78(2).

HIGH LIMIT (O Placais) was restless in the barrier. Trainer D Meagher was advised that a warning has been placed on HIGH LIMIT regarding its barrier manners and to take steps to improve them or action may be taken in future.

MY GOLD (M Zaki) and BELT AND ROAD (App CC Wong) bumped on jumping.

SILVER SKY (I Saifudin) shifted inwards at the start after making contact with MYSTIC PRIDE (B Vorster). This resulted in SPEEDY DEMON being carried inwards onto CHAMPION TEAM.

SATELLITE WINNER (App T See) was slow to begin.

Shortly after passing the 800m, SATELLITE WINNER mis-strode.

BELT AND ROAD, CHAMPION TEAM and MY GOLD all raced wide throughout.

HAPPY BUFFALO (C Grylls) laid outwards making the turn into the straight.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on TRIGAMY (K A'Isisuhairi) which revealed no apparent abnormality.

App T See, when questioned regarding the run of SATELLITE WINNER, stated that he was instructed to race handy but after being slightly slow to begin, he was further back than anticipated. He further stated that SATELLITE WINNER raced greenly in the race. In addition, it had run home fairly in the straight, however, he had to ease on a couple of occasions when awkwardly placed on the heels of other runners in the straight. His explanation was noted. A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on SATELLITE WINNER which revealed that the gelding returned as a roarer and not striding out freely. SATELLITE WINNER will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial from the barrier and a veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.

2 RACE 3 [TF1508] NOVICE SC (B) 1400M

Permission was granted for App CK Ng to replace App Y Salim on REFRESH as the latter was unable to make the weight. App Salim was subsequently fined a sum of S$200 in terms of MRA Rule 107(9).

SUN LION (WL Ho) and LORD OF CLOUD (E Aslam) bumped on jumping.

REFRESH jumped inwards at the start bumping SWIFT EMBRACE (K A'Isisuhairi) onto SILENT BOSS (G Boss), which had been carried outwards slightly by DESTROYER ECLIPSE (C Grylls), which in turn had been bumped by JUSTICE SMART (App R Zawari) when that gelding was carried outwards by LITTLE MASTER (App CC Wong). As a result of this incident, REFRESH was taken outwards and in so doing, inconvenienced TESORO PRIVADO (B Vorster).

Shortly after the start, SWIFT EMBRACE and SILENT BOSS bumped when tightened to the inside of REFRESH.

DESTROYER ECLIPSE raced keenly in the early stages.

REFRESH raced wide throughout.

SILENT BOSS was held up for a short distance in the early part of the straight.

LITTLE MASTER had a tendency to lay inwards in the straight.

SUN LION and SWIFT EMBRACE, which both raced poorly, will each be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on JUSTICE SMART which revealed no apparent abnormality.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on SILENT BOSS which revealed that the horse returned having debris in its trachea.

3 RACE 4 [TF1509] RESTRICTED MAIDEN SC (B) 1400M WEIGHT FOR AGE (2 & 3 YEARS OLD)

SKYDANCE ECLIPSE (C Grylls) was slow to begin.

LIM'S HUNTER (G Boss) jumped inwards at the start crowding QUEEN OF QUEENS (Z Zuriman) in onto GOLDEN STATES (B Vorster), which in turn bumped MASTER MINER (O Chavez).

WHITE TRUFFLE (App CC Wong) jumped away awkwardly.

BANGKOK BOY (K A'Isisuhairi), which jumped away awkwardly, was bumped shortly after the start by OVERSEER (M Kellady) which was bumped inwards by KING OF HOUSEHOLD (V Duric).

MASTER MINER was held up and unable to improve between the 600m and the 500m.

Making the turn into the straight, QUEEN OF QUEENS was bumped by MASTER MINER, which was taken outwards to improve.

WHITE TRUFFLE had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the straight.

Near the 250m, GOLDEN STATES was crowded to the inside of MASTER MINER, which shifted inwards abruptly.

Passing the 150m, BANGKOK BOY became unbalanced when bumped by WHITE TRUFFLE, which shifted outwards to obtain clear running.

Over the concluding stages, OVERSEER eased after becoming awkwardly placed on the heels of BANGKOK BOY.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on MASTER MINER which revealed no apparent abnormality.

RACE 5 [TF1510] OPEN BENCHMARK 67 POLYTRACK 1000M

GOLDEN SWORD (M Rodd), which was restless in the barrier, lost ground after jumping away awkwardly.

GREY FALCON (O Placais) jumped awkwardly outwards and bumped CONILAD (G Boss).

LONGHU (App H Syafiq) was slow to begin.

4 Near the 150m, LONGHU had to be eased outwards to avoid the heels of GREY FALCON, which shifted outwards slightly.

Approaching the 100m, App H Syafiq, the rider of LONGHU, lost the use of his near-side rein, which he regained shortly thereafter.

Near the 100m, GREY FALCON was hampered and carried outwards by GOLDEN SWORD, which shifted outwards when improving. LONGHU, which was racing on the outside of GREY FALCON, shifted away from that gelding and in so doing, inconvenienced SECRET MISSION (O Chavez). Jockey Rodd was subsequently shown the film of the incident and warned to exercise greater care when shifting ground in future.

Over the concluding stages, CADET (B Vorster) had to be eased outwards to avoid the heels of CHAMPAGNE REIN (App R Zawari), which rolled outwards under pressure.

RACE 6 [TF1511] CLASS 5 SC (B) 1400M DIVISION 2

PEREGRINE FALCON (M Zaki) blundered on jumping.

SMIDDY BYRNE (App H Syafiq) jumped awkwardly inwards and bumped HEAVENLY HAND (O Chavez) in onto ANY RUMOUR (V Duric).

ELITE GUSTAVO (App CC Wong) and SOLITAIRE (App Y Salim) bumped on jumping.

SOLITAIRE, HEPHAESTUS (M Ewe), BIG REGARDS (C Gyrlls) and ELITE GUSTAVO all raced wide throughout.

Approaching the 100m, HEAVENLY HAND shifted outwards to obtain a clear running making contact with BIG REGARDS and in so doing, carried that gelding wider on the track.

App Salim reported that SOLITAIRE was not striding out freely and making respiratory noises. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed that the horse returned not striding out freely.

5 RACE 7 [TF1512] CLASS 4 SC (B) 1200M DIVISION 2

Mr SR Selvan, Trainer S Gray's Assistant Trainer, when questioned regarding the significant increase in the body weight of GREY GATSBY (App H Syafiq), stated that the gelding had returned from a lengthy spell and had built up significantly during this time. He added that GREY GATSBY had progressed well during training and had worked well. He also added that GREY GATSBY was, in his opinion, fit to start. A Pre-Race veterinary examination passed GREY GATSBY fit to race.

Prior to the running of Race 7, the going was downgraded to yielding.

CLAUDIA'S BEAUTY (App CK Ng), which was fractious in the barrier, will be required to pass one starting stall test prior to being declared to race again in terms of MRA Rule 78(2).

COPACABANA (M Rodd) was slow to begin.

ONE KINABALU (M Kellady) jumped away awkwardly.

KNIGHT WAGER (C Grylls) and NO SMOKING JEFF (App S Shafrizal) bumped on jumping.

NATURAL IMPULSE (I Saifudin) jumped away awkwardly.

HARVEYWALLBANGER (K A'Isisuhairi) was difficult to settle in the backstraight.

Approaching the 1000m, RIVER GOLDEN (M Zaki) had to be eased when proving difficult to settle. GREY GATSBY, which was following, then became awkwardly placed on that gelding's heels and shifted outwards. However, GREY GATSBY then became awkwardly placed on the heels of ONE KINABALU and as a result had to be checked outwards. Shortly after, ONE KINABALU lost ground after getting its head up. ONE KINABALU continued to prove difficult to settle and approaching the 700m, raced up to the inside of MAJESTIC EMPRESS (B Vorster) and then shifted outwards carrying MAJESTIC EMPRESS out, resulting in that gelding having to be checked off the heels of HARVEYWALLBANGER. GREY GATSBY, which was following, had to be checked outwards in consequence.

Passing the 900m, RIVER GOLDEN got its head up when being eased off the heels of D'GREAT DANGER (App CC Wong).

Near the 800m, D'GREAT DANGER dipped.

6 D'GREAT DANGER laid inwards in the early part of the straight.

Subsequent veterinary examinations were requested on both MAJESTIC EMPRESS and HARVEYWALLBANGER which revealed no apparent abnormality.

All riders returned to scale an average of 1kg overweight due to the weather conditions.

RACE 8 [TF1513] CLASS 5 POLYTRACK 1100M

EVERTRUST (App CC Wong), which was slow to begin, made contact with the hindquarters of LADY LIBERTY (O Placais) shortly after the start.

Shortly after the start, SATELLITE MASTER (WL Ho) checked after being bumped inwards across the heels of DELFYNE (I Saifudin) by WAR STORY (M Kellady), which in turn had been carried inwards slightly when AMISTAD (App S Shafrizal) shifted inwards.

PATROCLUS (App T See), COOL CAT (B Vorster) and LADY LIBERTY all raced wide throughout.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on DELFYNE which revealed that the horse returned having bled. In terms of MRA Rule 92(3), it will not be permitted to canter or gallop on the main training tracks of any racecourse for a period of two months, and may not start in any race for a period of three months, and then only after having satisfactorily passed a bleeder’s test.

Jockey V Duric, the rider of TRIGGER MAN, reported that his mount failed to handle the rain affected track conditions. A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on TRIGGER MAN which revealed that the horse returned not striding out freely.

Jockey Kellady, the rider of WAR STORY, reported that his mount failed to handle the rain affected track conditions. A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on WAR STORY which revealed no apparent abnormality.

All riders returned to scale an average of ½kg overweight due to the weather conditions.

7 RACE 9 [TF1514] CLASS 4 POLYTRACK 1700M

FUEGO (V Duric) and BILLY BRITAIN (M Rodd) were both slow to begin.

LIM'S ARCHER (M Kellady) jumped away awkwardly.

FUEGO and BILLY BRITAIN both raced wide from the 800m.

Passing the 500m, SUN SCRAPER (App CC Wong) and BIG BANKER (O Placais) brushed for a short distance.

BIG BANKER had difficulty obtaining clear running between the 400m and the 250m.

Passing the 300m, LIM'S ARCHER laid outwards making contact with AMAZING MAN (K A'Isisuhairi) on a couple of occasions.

NINETYSEVENEMPEROR (Z Zuriman), which raced poorly, will be required to pass a 1000m gallop trial and veterinary examination prior to being declared to race again.

A subsequent veterinary examination was requested on BILLY BRITAIN which revealed no apparent abnormality.

All riders returned to scale an average of ½kg overweight due to the weather conditions.

RACE 10 [TF1515] CLASS 4 SC (B) 1200M DIVISION 1

FIRST LIGHT (V Duric) was slow to begin.

MAGIC WAND (B Vorster) lost ground after beginning awkwardly.

IMPERIAL FALLS (M Rodd) and SUPER BALL (M Ewe) bumped on jumping, resulting in SUPER BALL becoming unbalanced and blundering. Shortly thereafter, COUNTRY WARRIOR (WL Ho) was inconvenienced when momentarily crowded between SUPER BALL, which shifted inwards slightly and SIGLAP BIRD (M Zaki) , which shifted outwards.

Shortly after the start, DUTROW (App H Syafiq) was buffeted between SOONBABY (I Saifudin), which shifted inwards and PAPERBACK TROOPER (C Grylls), which shifted outwards.

8 Approaching the 700m, HONOR (App CK Ng), which was racing keenly, had to be eased off the heels of FIRST LIGHT.

MAGIC WAND was unable to improve approaching the 600m when awkwardly placed on the inside of POWER LIN (O Placais).

SOONBABY had difficulty obtaining clear running in the straight.

MAGIC WAND had to be taken outwards near the 200m in order to obtain clear running.

Subsequent veterinary examinations were requested on SIGLAP BIRD, FIRST LIGHT, MAGIC WAND and SOONBABY which revealed no apparent abnormality.

SINGAPORE NOVEMBER MEETING 2017 FRIDAY, 24 NOVEMBER 2017:

RACE 1 [TF1480]

At the conclusion of an Inquiry on Sunday, 26 November 2017, App S Shafrizal, the rider of BEST WISHES, in the presence of his Master, Trainer M Clements, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under MRA Rule 44(9) (a)(ii) in that whilst riding BEST WISHES in Race 1 at the Singapore Turf Club Meeting on Friday, 24 November 2017, a pproaching the 600m, he allowed his mount to shift inwards, when insufficiently clear, resulting in REACH FOR THE SUN (App CC Wong) having to be checked. W hen deciding on penalty, the Stewards took into account his record, guilty plea and the degree of interference and carelessness. App Shafrizal was suspended from riding in races with effect from Monday, 27 November 2017 to Sunday, 03 December 2017 both dates inclusive (two Singapore Race Days) and was advised of his Right of Appeal.
