Faculty/Service: Health and Life Sciences (The Northern Hub for Veteran and Military Families’ Research)

Job Title: Research Assistant - Grade 4

Job Purpose: This role will include working on a range of research projects that focus on military veterans’ health and well- being and military families. The role holder will be expected to undertake report writing on exiting projects which are nearing completion, as well as contributing to qualitative and quantitative analysis, and assisting in the development of funding proposals. This will include literature searching, and comprehensive reviews of literature.

Applicants wishing to apply for a grade 4 role are not expected to hold a PhD but will have some research experience in a related field.

1. Main Duties:  Report writing on existing projects  Performing and managing all literature reviews  Assist in the development and writing of research proposals aligned to funding priorities and project aims.  Develop strong collaborative research networks with both internal and external partners

2. Location: The position is based in the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences located in the Main Library Building, Coach Lane Campus, but may involve liaising with colleagues in other Faculties based in the City campus.

3. Attendance Requirements: The job requires attendance at the University but off site working will also be required when collaborating with community or business partners.

3. Education/Training BSc and/or MSc in a related subject. Consideration will be given to those with MSc in research. E A/I
