Kronos Time Entry and Approval by Non-Exempt Staff Employees

Logging in and entering time:  From an ISU-recognized IP address, open a web browser such as Microsoft Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox to access the internet.  Click in the web address field, highlighting the entire web address, and type kronos.indstate.edu which will take you to the log in screen for ISU’s application.  Log in to Kronos using your Sycamore login (e.g., bsmith21 plus password). This is the same login as you use for your MyISU Portal account.  On the My Timecard view, be certain that the correct time period (Current Pay Period or Previous Pay Period) is displayed in the Time Period field below your name.  Enter your time In and/or Out in the appropriate column and on the correct row of the date worked.  For time not worked, such as sick or vacation leave, select the appropriate date row and click on the drop-down arrow in the Pay Code column. Select the appropriate pay code from the list then tab to the next column (Amount). Enter the number of hours used for this pay code using two decimal places (like 7.50 for the full day or like 1.25 for one hour and fifteen minutes).  Click on the Save tool in the upper left section of your timecard to save your entries each time.  Log off by selecting the Sign Out link in the upper left section of your session, just beneath your name.

At the end of the pay period:  Log in and review your time card for the following: correct clock codes (e.g., an out punch is not recorded as another in punch), missing punches (indicated by a red box).  To approve an accurate time card, click on the drop down tool called Approvals, which is displayed under your name and Time Period, then select Approve.  If you need to make an edit (add, correct, or delete a time transaction) after you have approved your timecard, you can do so by selecting Remove Approval from the drop down Approval tool; after final edits, you must apply the approval again.  Log off by selecting the Sign Out link in the upper left section of your session, just beneath your name.
