Model Agreement of Cooperation

Memorandum of Understanding between Amirkabir University of Technology, Iran and the University of …, .…

The University of … (…), represented by its President Prof. …, and Amirkabir University of Technology (AUT), represented by its president Prof. S. Ahmad Motamedi, desiring to establish collaborative relations between the two institutions in order to promote friendship and cooperate toward the internationalisation of higher education in a mutually beneficial association in general, and therefore, to develop academic and cultural exchange in education, research and other areas in particular, have agreed that:

1. The two institutions shall encourage co-operation in any discipline and programme offered at either university as well as further areas of cooperation which are felt to promote the above-mentioned goals. However, any specific bilateral programme including joint degrees shall be subject to mutual consent, availability of funds and the approval of both universities. Such programmes may include: a) Explore possibilities for faculty exchanges for research, lectures, and discussions that mutually benefit both institutions; b) Explore the feasibility of student exchanges and study programs; c) Seek support for projects determined to be mutually beneficial to both institutions. d) Explore cooperation between faculty members in both parties in supervision of graduate theses and dissertations e) Consider joint organization of courses, study tours, workshops, conferences, seminars, and webinars f) Consider the organizing of joint degree programs g) Encourage cooperation between faculty members in both parties in research publications, especially in international journals h) Support internships and sabbaticals i) Consider other forms of university cooperation of mutual interest

2. This MOU shall be identified as the parent document of any program agreement executed between the parties.

3. This MoU becomes effective on the date of signature and shall have an initial duration of 5 (five) years from the date of signature. It is automatically renewed every 5 (five) years, unless one party gives six-month written notice of termination in advance. This MOU maybe terminated by either party at any time for any reason with a six-month written notice of termination in advance.

4. Negotiation, implementation and coordination of the MoU are the responsibility of the Director Chancellor of the AUT, and of the President of ______. They may delegate this responsibility to appropriate individuals from their academic/administrative staff.

5. Despite the statements and obligations expressed herein, this MoU is a non-binding expression of the current intentions of the Parties, and neither Party will incur nor be bound to any legal obligations or expense hereunder to the other Party until and unless definitive agreements have been negotiated, approved by the necessary management levels of each Party and executed and delivered by authorized representatives of both Parties.
