Greenville Gives Holiday Celebration

Greenville Gives is the official Christmas tree-lighting ceremony for the City of Greenville. It’s an evening of music, dancing, and activities for all ages. Hosted by Uptown Greenville and the City of Greenville, the event will be held at Five Points Plaza in Uptown Greenville from 5:30-7:00pm on Friday, December 5, 2014.

It’s an evening of holiday celebrations with a charitable twist as attendees are encouraged to bring donations to participating local organizations. Organizations present often include: The Food Band of Central and Eastern North Carolina, Toys for Tots, Salvation Army, The Easter Seals, the Ronald McDonald House and the Animal Shelter.

Santa and Mrs. Claus arrive aboard the Greenville Jolly Trolley, there are live performances from local singers and dancers, and children have the opportunity to take photos with Santa and decorate Christmas cookies. Local Uptown restaurants provide sweets, hot chocolate and coffee for attendees!

Greenville Gives is part of a full weekend of celebrations in Uptown Greenville to ring in the holiday season. The First Friday ArtWalk will also take place on Friday, December 5th, from 5:00-8:00pm in the Uptown district and is a time where attendees can take a self-guided tour of art galleries and receive discounts from participating restaurants. On Saturday, December 6, the Greenville Jaycees Christmas Parade will start at 10:00am on Evans Street alongside an open-air Holiday Market that will run at Five Points Plaza from 9:00am-1:00pm.
