Hickory Grove Elementary SLT Agenda

I. Teambuilding (Breakfast sponsored by PTO) The team got to enjoy a special breakfast honoring all their hard work and dedication so far this year. II. School Improvement Plan Review a. Identify the goals/strategies of the SIP Each goal of the SIP plan and the corresponding strategies were identified. b. Assess each goal (Complete chart in assigned groups) The team broke into four groups. Group 1: Goal 4 Group 2: Goal 5 Abbey, Donnelly, Calbreath, Dachiu Becker, Moore, Rosado, Hemple Group 3: Goal 6 Group 4: Goal 7 Swiontek, Neufer, Cipolletti, Berlin, Muren, Watson, Henry, Young, Kreutzberger McLaughlin Each group was assigned a goal from the SIP and the list of the strategies that will be implemented in order to achieve the specified goal. SIP Goals: 1. Building a strong school culture 2. Increase CCR and GLP reading proficiency in grades 3-5 as measured by EOG and EVASS by at least 10%.

3. Increase CCR and GLP math proficiency in grades 3-5 as measured by EOG and EVASS by at least 10%.

4. Increase CCR and GLP science proficiency in 5th grade as measured by EOG and EVASS by at least 10%.

Each team worked to assess where the school currently was on each strategy using a scale of 1-3. Then they brainstormed a next step in order to move the school forward. The posters that each group worked on are going to be displayed in the workroom for all staff members to see.

III. Share out selected Next Steps from your group Each group shared out a next step that they brainstormed to go with one of their strategies. Several groups mentioned finding ways to differentiate for EC and ESL students during Core math and reading blocks. IV. Reflection Journal- answer the following questions: a. What is one thing you are doing to contribute to the school’s goal(s)? b. What is one thing you are going to start/stop doing in order to progress toward the goal(s)? c. What is the best way to present this information to your team? Each member of the SLT took time to reflect on the above questions. They then shared ideas that they had about bringing the information back to each of their teams. V. Assignment for next meeting a. Discuss with your teams to answer the following questions: a.i. How is our team contributing to each goal? a.ii. What is our team going to start or stop doing in order to progress towards each of the goals? Be prepared to share team responses at the next meeting. SLT members will meet with their teams between now and the next meeting on November 30th, in order to share the information from today’s meeting, assess where their team is on each goal, and determine a next step for each goal. SLT members will report out at the next meeting.
