Administration

From June 1, 1999 to January 31, chief of the department of orthopaedics, Sykehuset Buskerud. The hospital has about 530 beds and is a central hospital for about 240 000 people. The dep. of orthop. has 50 beds and in addition 14 beds for patients with rheumatoid diseases undergoing orthopaedic operations. The staff comprices 8 specialists in orthopaedic surgery, 6 residents and all together about 90 employees. The department did about 190 total hip prostheses, 120 total knee prostheses, 110 spinal operations annually. 2001 the total number of operations was about 3000. 70% of the operations is trauma and “emergency” operations.

From June 1999 to December 2000 member of a committee coordinating and organizing the surgical services in Southern Norway (Helsergion Sør)

Chief medical doctor. Engaged by Normeca AS March 2007-June 2007, planning a hospital outside Kapoeta in South Sudan. Recruitement of personell in Kenya, Uganda and South Sudan. On site MD Senior medical officer (SMO), LtCol, Norwegian Deployable Hospital in Abeché in Chad August-November 2009. UN mission, Minurcat II. Medical responsible for this Norwegian Role 2 hospital with the main objective to treat UN soldiers, but most of the medical work was treating local patients in cooperation with the local hospital in Abeché.
