PROGRAMS IN ENGLISH OFFERED IN THE INSTITUTE OF POLITICAL SCIENCE AT THE UNIVERSITY OF WARSAW
Master's Degree Program in European Studies second-cycle evening studies Description: Master's Degree Program in European Studies is addressed primarily to foreigners with a Bachelor's degree awarded upon completion of a Bachelor's degree program (undergraduate studies) in Poland or elsewhere. Graduates will acquire the intellectual qualifications necessary for understanding and analysing the EU countries and their neighbours as well as the process of the European integration from the perspective of a new EU member – Poland – a country which plays a major role in Central and Eastern Europe. Thanks to skill building activities provided during course, they will be well trained in the art of communication, negotiation and persuasion. The graduates will be fully qualified to take up the posts of analysts and specialists in public administration, universities, national or international institutions and organizations, and companies operating across Europe. In order to receive a Master's degree, the graduates will be required to write a Master’s thesis and pass the examination. The Program is fee-paying. The language is English.

Admission procedure: Entry requirements In order to apply for admission apart from fluent English candidates should meet one of the following conditions: a. hold the Bachelor’s degree in any area of studies in Poland or elsewhere, b. hold the Master’s degree in any area of studies, in Poland or elsewhere
Documents to be supplied by candidates General documents: 1. High school diploma 2. One of the two documents certifying:
1 a. Bachelor’s degree in any area of studies in Poland or elsewhere, b. Master’s degree in any area of studies, in Poland or elsewhere Foreign diplomas must be authenticated by the appropriate authorities, if there is no agreement on the mutual recognition of diplomas, translated into Polish by a sworn translator and certified (if there is no agreement on the mutual recognition of diplomas): high school diplomas by the Education Office in Warsaw and university diplomas by the University of Warsaw. 3. Application form filled in by the candidate 4. Copy of the passport/identity card page with the photograph, certified by the Warsaw University 5. Four photographs of the candidate 6. Certificate confirming the knowledge of English, e.g. TOEFL, AC or IELTS. 7. Written commitment to regular payment of tuition fees 8. Application for the electronic student card (after the central on-line registration) 9. Printout from the Internet Registration of Candidates – IRK (after the central on- line registration) 10. Receipt of the administration fee (after the central on-line registration) 11. Health certificate

Central on-line registration Candidates should register on-line (https://irk.uw.edu.pl/?change_lang=en) and pay the non-refundable administrative fee according to the general rules.
Decision on admission Candidates will be qualified on the basis on the documents submitted until all places have been filled. The decision made by the Institute of Political Science must be accepted by the Rector of the University of Warsaw.
Information concerning the results The Recruitment Commission will notify the candidates about the results by e-mail/ post. The list of admitted students will be also available in the Institute of Political Science, Nowy Świat 67, Warsaw. In case of insufficient number of candidates the studies will not be opened. Additional information When the number of applications exceeds the limit of students, the additional procedure will start. 4 Tuition fees Tuition fees cover the cost of participation in the program and have been set for the academic year 2009/2010 at 1,750 euros per semester for the first year students from the EU/EFTA countries and at 2,150 euros per semester for the first year students from outside the EU/EFTA area. In the second year of studies the tuition fee amounts to 1,600 euros and 2,125 euros per semester respectively.
