Business Management s1

Mrs. Buckley B330 BUSINESS MANAGEMENT

______

CLASSROOM PROCEDURES

At the beginning of each class you will look for the DO NOW on the whiteboard. This could be a variety of activities. Have your textbook, paper and pen ready to complete it.

All students are encouraged to keep a notebook for this class. This notebook will help keep you organized with:

1. Class notes that should be taken on a regular basis.

2. Homework that is checked and recorded for each student.

All students are responsible for reading the current chapter the class is reviewing and staying on top of the vocabulary words that are included in that chapter.

All classes will end with a Summary for Today that should be included in your class notes to further emphasize what we went over in class that day.

GRADING FOR THIS CLASS

 Chapter tests are given throughout the year and are only given after a thorough review and summary.  Ongoing projects/papers will be given throughout the year on various topics relating to the subject we are covering at the time and will be graded as a test.  This class has both an Honors and College Prep level.

Tests 40% Projects 30% Homework 20% Participation 10%

All homework is checked and recorded in this class. Not completing homework on a consistent basis will reduce your quarterly grade. Completing the homework will improve your average quarterly grade which will be determined at the end of each quarter. Mrs. Buckley B330 Any missing work should be made up within two weeks of your absence. If you do not make up the test or project/paper within two weeks, you will receive a zero.

BUSINESS PLAN

Each student will complete a Business Plan for a business of their choice. This Business Plan Project will begin in October and continue in phases until the end of 3rd quarter. You should begin thinking about the business you would like to research and, ultimately, write a Business Plan for that particular business. I suggest something you enjoy and know a little about OR want to know more about. This will be part of your grading for every quarter but the last quarter. Further details will follow.

TARDINESS

All students are expected to be in class on time. If you are more than 20 minutes late, it will result in an absence. Remember that four absences result in a failing grade.

GENERAL RULES  Please be prepared for each class.  Being prepared means bringing your textbook, a pencil or pen, and a 3-section notebook.  Always come to my class with a positive attitude and ready to participate in classroom discussions.
