Improvement on the registration mark reading If the size of registration mark is 5mm or smaller, it is difficult to read the mark, sometimes it cannot be read. The cause of this is that the registration mark reading is started at 5mm left side from the specified position in order to avoid misreading. Then from this version, the reading position is changed, it is started at specified position. This change is only for key operation at control panel. The mark reading method is not changed when the TB command is sent.

Fixed a bug The registration mark which is printed at 50 mm from +X edge cannot be read.
Fixed a bug In HP-GL dump mode, the buffer empty bit of return value of ESC.O command does not turn on even if the buffer is empty. The buffer empty bit will turn on when the size of empty buffer is 1/3 or more in the dump mode.
Fixed a bug In HP-GL mode, if the 7586 is selected as the emulation model, “7595” is printed at the setting conditions list.
Fixed a bug ”TB” command did not work according to the specification.

The menu which starts auto registration mark reading operation by Auto registration mark function is added to Menu, at the time of Local mode is selected. Change the selection of numerical values from “1mm, 5mm, 10mm “ to “5mm, 10mm, 50mm” at the Set Up of the registration-mark distance-adjustment. As the mode which can be chosen, standard model is added as well as FC5100A.

Fixed a bug in the distance adjustment settings of the auto-registration mark reading function in Inch mode. There was an error of around 0.15% in value rounding at the 1/2” and 1/8” settings. Eliminated the wait period after the PAUSE key was pressed. There was a wait period of around 1 second after the PAUSE key was pressed while the cooling fan was started up and its rotation stabilized. With this version there is no waiting, and the plotter enters Pause mode immediately after the PAUSE key is pressed. Modification to enlarge the I/O buffer size by approx. 500 bytes. Modification to disable the Copy mode if the size of the data is larger than the buffer size in HP-GL mode. In Copy mode, some lines were missing if data of a size larger than the buffer size was sent. Fixed a bug where an unnecessary length of media was fed after the second auto pre-feeding.

Fixed a bug where the message “LOAD MEDIA” does not appear when the medium is fed out of the rollers by pressing the Position key in the Roll media mode. Fixed a bug where an Off scale error is indicated when the medium is fed more than half its length in the X axis direction in the Sheet media mode in HP-GL command mode. Fixed a bug where the message “ROLL2” appears even if the cam lever is just lifted up without loading the medium. Fixed a bug where the plotter hangs up after the second initialization in the GP-GL command mode, the cutter mode, and when the rotate setting is set to ON.

Modification to move the pen position as soon as an arrow key is pressed There used to be a wait for the fan to start after the arrow key was pressed. Modification to set the +X edge of plot area based on the registration mark positions instead of using the +X media sensor. When auto registration mark sensing was enabled and the mark at the origin point was too close to the leading edge of the medium, the plotter displayed LOAD MEDIA. Added a function to initialize the pre-feed parameters when a feed-related command such as ‘PG’ is received. When a PG command was used to specify a new origin toward the +X axis after cutting while Auto Pre-feed is ON, the Auto Pre-feed function did not work in the next job. Extended the waiting time between commands while changing settings in the setup menu in the EEPROM When the auto registration mark sensor offset was changed, it sometimes caused other settings to change. Fixed a bug where the cutter offset axis value was recalculated from the second auto pre-feed during a single job, causing the cutter offset value to be off. Added ESC.D command This command is to monitor the NOVRAM value in HPGL mode

Changed the gain values from (60, 32) to (45, 32) when the firmware was upgraded from V1.30 to V1.40, and also when NOVRAM Clear was executed from the DIP SW. Reduced the pen up force (1/8 of V1.20)
Version 1.30 Release date: April 24, 2003 Raised the threshold value of the X position alarm When a full roll of media was loaded, the plotter sometimes displayed an X position alarm. Changed the gain value to (60, 32) Some plotters vibrated during X axis movement. Modification to feed the medium back to the origin point when the –X sensor detects the end of the medium when the plotter is initialized after SHEET has been selected. When the plotter was initialized after SHEET had been selected, the motor kept turning even after the end of the medium was reached. Changed the default values after NOVRAM Clear was executed from the DIP SW. Enlarged the cross mark for the OFFSET adjustment of the auto registration mark sensor to 15mm in both the X and Y axes. Fixed a bug where the PAGE LENGTH setting in inches was returned to the default setting when the plotter was restarted.

Changed to show the model name (-40, -60 or -120) on the LCD during initialization. Fixed a bug where the cut pressure was set lower from the second time when cutting multiple lines in the same axis.
