St Philip Neri’s 90th Anniversary: At the recent parish meeting it was SAINT PHILIP NERI PARISH th unanimously agreed that we should celebrate the 90 Anniversary of our The Presbytery, 3 Chesterfield Road South, Mansfield, NG19 7AB beautiful church on Tuesday 25th March 2015. Various suggestions to mark the Telephone (01623) 623458 Parish Website: stphilipmansfield.com occasion were made and it was agreed that a small group of parishioners Diocesan Website: www.nrcdt.org.uk NRCDT: Charity Number 1134449, Company Number 7151646 should form to make proposals and plan for the occasion. Looking forward 10 years to the centenary of the church it was also suggested that younger members of the parish should be asked to become involved now so that we could have continuity within the parish to help the clergy manage such events. If any parishioner would like to be involved please speak to Richard Dillon or the clergy. Changes around the Altar: You may have noticed that we have had problems with the candles around the altar and we have a considerable amount of wax on the sanctuary floor. To resolve this issue we have purchased new oil candles which have the appearance of high quality beeswax candles: they are well engineered with safety and convenience in mind. We have purchased 8 of these candles at £75.00 each and should anyone like to donate for one of them then please see Fr. Malachy. We will also need to look at renewing the server’s albs – these cost £35/40; and vestments and chalices – again if anyone would like to help with these then they can choose from a catalogue at the Presbytery. Thanks to all who continue to give that extra to the Church. th Churches Together: United Service – South Mansfield Christian Fellowship, 12 WEEK OF ORDINARY TIME (YEAR A) Bellamy Road, Mansfield (adjoining St Peter’s School) on Sunday 22nd June at Corpus Christi nd 6.00pm – to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the Church. 22 June 2014 The Briars: An ‘Open Day’ is arranged, by The Briars and CAFOD, on Sunday 29th June.
