Perpetual Disclaimer Health and Safety
Derby College has taken all reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone entering Derby College Equestrian Centre and Broomfield Hall Estate. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents and must obey the instructions from Derby College staff and notices displayed. Riding is a High Risk Sport. All individual riders must be accompanied by someone on foot.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
All riders must wear correct riding clothing and footwear when mounted and wearing of hard hats of the minimum standard EN1384, PAS015 & ASTMF1163 at all times when riding or handling horses is compulsory. It is also compulsory to wear a body protector and Skull Caps with no fixed peak when using the XC Schooling field and it is a Derby College recommendation that body protectors are worn when show jumping at Derby College Equestrian Centre or round the Broomfield Hall Estate.

Derby College does not accept any liability for any accident, injury, illness, loss or damage caused to or suffered by any horse, pony, staff, student, visitor or any other person, vehicle or any other property in connection with or arising from Broomfield Hall Equestrian Centre, Derby College, except when found liable in law.
I accept that I ride entirely at my own risk and that of my horse and accept that no liability or blame will be attached to Derby College I understand that signing this form becomes the basis of a contract between me and Derby College.

A disclaimer must be filled in before your session.
It is a Derby College recommendation that body protectors are worn when show jumping at Derby College Equestrian Centre or round the Broomfield Hall Estate.
All individual riders must be accompanied by a dismounted person who would be able to help them and their horse in the case of any incident.
Hire/Entries must be paid for before your session
All riders must wear BSI approved head and footwear whist mounted on the premises.
No lunging, long reining or loose schooling
Please adhere to the rules of the school especially in shared schooling sessions. Pass left to left, don’t overtake and ride transitions off the track
Respectful riding and training is requested at all times, we will not tolerate harsh training methods
Please report any accident or incident immediately
Don’t leave horses tied up unattended
Clear the car park of droppings and loose hay
Derby College operates a ‘no dog’ policy
Derby College are not responsible for any loss or damage to persons, animals, vehicles or equipment whilst on the premises.
Please respect the property and leave the premises as clean as possible.
No smoking in the arena, gallery or near the equestrian centre. There is an official smoking area which the staff on the yard can show you.
Arena Hire Terms & Conditions The arena hire charge covers up to 4 horses, further horses are by agreement and are charged £5 each
In the arena, please pick up after your horse immediately, before droppings get trampled into the surface
Please clear the arena of equipment, poles etc after use
Please lift, carry and use our jumps with respect, report any breakages to the equestrian staff in the stables immediately
Clubs/societies/persons hire the premises at their own risk. Clubs and any third parties e.g. caterers, must hold public liability/third party liability insurance which we may ask to see
XC Terms and Conditions 1. It is compulsory that all riders wear BSI kitemarked Skull Caps with no fixed peak up to the current safety standard 2. Body Protectors are compulsory in the XC Schooling field. Perpetual Disclaimer 3. It is compulsory that every person entering upon the Cross Country Course is accompanied by a responsible adult. 4. It is compulsory to report immediately to the stables office any damage or accident which may occur however minor. 5. It is compulsory that all gates must be closed. 6. Whilst we maintain and inspect our course regularly, it is the rider’s responsibility to check the take offs and landings to make sure that they are safe to ride on. 7. We strongly advise that those using the Cross Country Course carry a mobile phone at all times In case of accidents, the details for emergency help are: Derby College, Broomfield Hall Campus, just off A608 Heanor Road, between Breadsall & Venue: Morley.
