Mission Girl Guides of Canada-Guides du Canada enables girls to be confident, resourceful and courageous, and to make a difference in the world.

Purpose: To be responsible for the patrol meals at the 2019 camp.

Accountable to: Infrastructure Coordinator/ Food Services Team Lead

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Pre-Camp:  To attend the pre-camp planning meetings via face to face or conference call.  To begin preparing camp menus at the pre-camp planning meetings.  To prepare the final camp menu taking into consideration any special diet needs of participants.  To estimate quantities of food and cleaning supplies required at camp.  To prepare a grocery list necessary for camp.  To prepare the menus at camp.  To be responsible for food preparation for patrol as camp is being set-up.

Camp:  To attend staff meetings as required.  To oversee the preparation of patrol meals.  To oversee proper storage of food and fluids.  To maintain cleanliness in the kitchen and food storage area.  To replenish supplies as necessary.  To report damage to or failure of equipment or facility to Infrastructure Coordinator.  To supervise Food Services team.

Post Camp:  To forward all remaining food and supplies following camp to Infrastructure Coordinator.  To oversee closing of all areas used by the Food Services Staff.  To prepare a final Food Services Patrol QM Report of the camp and forward it to the Responsible Guider.  To return all external resource equipment, supplies and resources to the Infrastructure Coordinator.

Specific Qualifications:  Basic Level of food handling and preparation Course – (1 day).  Good knowledge of the Canada Food Guide.

Term of Office The term of office will be as outlined by the By-laws of Girl Guides of Canada. Be present for the duration of the camp including set up and break down. The time required for the work of the position varies considerably; approximately 5 - 10 hours per week, on average, will be required.
