Regulations:

 This type of visa is required for nationals traveling to Brazil as tourists or participants in conferences, seminars, arts and sports events (provided no payment is involved for their participation).  Nationals of the following countries are visa exempt when traveling to Brazil on tourism: Andorra, Argentina, Austria, Bahamas, Barbados, Belgium, Bolivia, Bulgaria, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Ecuador, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Guatemala, Guyana, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macau, Malaysia, Monaco, Morocco, Namibia, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, the Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, South Korea, the Sovereign Order of Malta (citizens of Malta must have a visa), Spain, Suriname, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Trinidad & Tobago, Tunisia, Turkey, United Kingdom, Uruguay, the Vatican and Venezuela.  Passports must be valid for at least six months from the date of intended arrival in Brazil, and have enough blank pages for visas and entrance stamps.  Length of stay in Brazil could be up to 90 days, which can be extended to a further 90 days, at the discretion of the Brazilian Immigration Authorities (DPMAF). However, tourist stays in Brazil should not exceed 180 days in any 12-month period.  On a reciprocity basis, first entry into Brazil must be no later than 90 days after the visa has been issued for passport holders of the following countries: Angola, Bahrain, Cambodia, Cape Verde, China, Cuba, Equatorial Guinea, Honduras, Korea, Gabon, Ghana, Greece, Indonesia, Japan, Jordan, Kuwait, Laos, Libya, Myanmar, Nigeria, Oman, Paraguay, Pakistan, Philippines, Portugal, Switzerland Taiwan, Thailand, and Tunisia.  Employment paid or unpaid is prohibited. Requirements:

 Fill in electronically the application form at https://scedv.serpro.gov.br/, print out, sign it and submit your request with the following documentation:  Valid passport for at least six months (the Consular Section of the Embassy reserves the right not to endorse soiled, damaged or defaced passports).  One recent passport-sized (3x4 cm) photograph.

1  Return or onward ticket, booking statement from the travel or e-ticket confirmation containing the name of the passenger, confirmed itinerary, flight numbers and arrival/departure dates or Proof of financial self-support during the stay of the applicant in Brazil (bank statements of account in Ireland, payment slips and credit card statements are accepted as proof).  Certificate of vaccination, if necessary (see information on vaccinations).  For those participating in conferences, seminars, arts or sports events; a letter is requested from the organizing institution in Brazil, containing specific information on the activity to be performed, location and duration of the event and stating that the participant will not receive payment.

PLEASE NOTE that the requirements listed above should not, in any way, be considered all inclusive. The Consular Section of the Brazilian Embassy in Dublin reserves the right to request additional information and/or documentation when they are deemed necessary. CONSULAR FEES AND PROCESSING TIME

 The consular fee for a tourist visa is €20.00. Based on reciprocity, however, nationals of the following countries are charged as follows: Algeria (€60,00); Australia (€35.00); Canada (€65.00); Japan (€25.00); Mexico (€30,00); Nigeria (€65.00).

 For USA citizens, tourist visas are free of charge; however, a processing fee of €140.00 is applicable, based on reciprocity.

 For citizens from United Arab Emirates, an additional processing fee of €55.00 is applicable, based on reciprocity.

 Nationals from certain countries require consultation with the Brazilian Ministry of External Relations, prior to the issue of their visas. In these cases an extra, non- refundable consultation fee of €30.00 (per person) will apply.

 When visas are applied for by post, through travel agencies, delivery services, or third party, there is an additional handling fee of €20.00 (per person). This fee does not cover the posting of documents.

 When applying by mail, a self-addressed prepaid registered envelope must be enclosed, for the return of the passport. The Embassy cannot accept responsibility for the loss and/or damage of documents in any kind of mail.

 In times of heavy workload waiting times will increase. Therefore, do not leave your application to the last minute and do not commit yourself to travel plans until you know when your visa will be issued. Processing time 5-10 working days.  This Consular Section does not provide express or emergency visa services.  General conditions are subject to change without prior notice.
