Edmonton is home to North America's largest shopping and entertainment complex, West Edmonton EDMONTON, AB Mall. More than just a shopping centre, West Edmonton Mall also has a giant water park, a man-made lake, a skating rink, two mini-golf courses, movie theatres, a casino and an amusement park. Edmonton's vibrant population tends to hang out and shop at the trendy Whyte Avenue district, or along Jasper Avenue and 104th Street near Grant MacEwan. The Muttart Conservatory, an expansive horticultural spectacle, is noted for its unique pyramid architecture. No visit to Edmonton is complete without seeing the remarkable Alberta Legislature Building and Fort Edmonton Park. Levels: 3B, 4B and C, 5B and C and 6B and C - Group : Provincial groups novice, junior and senior (duos, trios, group of 4 and 5) Purpose: Declare the Regional Champion in - Individual: Level: 3B, 4B and C, 5B and C and 6B and C - Groups: novice, junior and senior (duos, trios, group of 4 and 5)

NATIONAL STREAM WESTERN REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS Format - Individual Apparatus and All Around events Level 7,8,9 - Group Pre-novice, novice. Junior, senior (Duos, Trios, and Groups of 4 and 5 Purpose: - To qualify for entry to the 2011 Canadian Individual Championships - To designate the Western Canadian Champion Medalists in each of the categories

ELIGIBILITY * All athletes, coaches, judges, team managers must be registered members of the GCG year in force. * All participating Associations and their members commit themselves to respect the GCG/RG Program Technical Rules and Regulations especially the ones concerning the age and nationality of the gymnasts. * Provincial/Territorial Rhythmic Gymnastics Sport Governing Bodies, which do not respect the above three directives, will miss the opportunity to be qualified for the Canadian Individual Championships Coaches According the article 16.1 of the RG technical regulations, all coaches on the floor must be certified level 3 of the NCCP; if coaching a National Level athlete or group. All Coaches for Provincial Level Coach must be certified Level 2 of the NCCP. A coach without the proper certification must request an exemption from the RG Program Director (complete form below).

The request must be sent directly to the national office of the RG program no later than MARCH 25, 2011. The completed form must be joined by a cheque of $25 to cover administrative cost. DRAW Draw will be conducted Pacific Institute of Sport Excellence, 4371 Interurban Road Victoria, BC V9E 2C5

on APRIL 4, 2011 and rotations will be distributed 1 week prior to the event GALA AND Please indicate on the registration form if you have a showpiece or fun PROVINCIAL routine (individual, group or team) which you would like to perform at our GYMNAESTRADA Gala (Sunday afternoon). Provincial Level gymnasts are eligible to present a group routine (greater than four gymnasts) at the Alberta Provincial Gymnaestrada in Edmonton on the afternoon of April 30, 2011. REGISTRATION 1st Registration Deadline from Provinces is FEBRUARY 25, 2011. Please indicate numbers of gymnasts and levels. Include those gymnasts who are attending Elite Canada, and may qualify for direct competition at the Canadian Individual Championships 2011.

Final Registration Date is MARCH 25, 2011 Registration Fee Athletes: $125.00 Coaches: $80.00 Managers: $80.00

Late Registration Fee of $50.00 per participant will be applied. The waiver and medical forms (attached) must also be completed for every registered participant (athletes, coaches, managers and JUDGES!!!) All forms must be duly and fully completed. Incomplete forms (i.e. missing birthday, NCCP numbers, missing or incomplete medical and/or waiver forms, etc.) will be charged a penalty fee of $20 per registered participant. Payment must be made prior to being permitted to compete.

The registration forms (attached) along with the payment must be RECEIVED No later than MARCH 25, 2011. at Rhythmic Gymnastics Alberta 11759 Groat Road, Edmonton, AB T5M 3K6 No refunds will be made after this time without presentation of medical note. After March 30, 2011, a processing fee of $20 will be charged on all refunds, regardless of reason for request.

A participant not registered by the deadline may be authorized to compete upon payment of the registration fee plus a $50.00 penalty per registered participant (for each athlete and/or coach). No registration is accepted if received at the above address less than ten days before the first day of competition.

No registration will be accepted if received at RGA after April 10, 2011 unless special dispensation is given by the RG Program Director. Late entries will replace athletes who withdraw after the draw is done.

TRANSPORTATION Clubs are responsible for their own airport to venue/hotel transportation.

BANQUET A Tropical Beach Party banquet will be held at the Coast Edmonton Plaza Hotel. Cost will be $30 and will include activity and a healthy warm meal. Bring your grass skirts, aloha shirts, sarongs and get ready to hula. ACCREDITATION The GCG accreditation procedures will apply. The system consists of colour coded categories and access zones. Accreditation will be distributed upon arrival to the competition venue. The accreditation must be worn to access the venue and the competitive area.

More information on the accreditation procedures will be given at the technical meeting. MEDICAL Dr. Kirk Lewis, Chiropractor, will be on-site. Please see attached release forms. PROTOCOL & There will be performances from our Lausanne Switzerland World AWARD Gymnaestrada teams during the competition. Please join us to celebrate the CEREMONIES over 100 gymnasts from Alberta who are living the "Active for Life" concept of the Long Term Athlete Development plan.

Each Category - Top 8 athletes AA and top 8 athletes per apparatus.

Group – Top 8 Groups AA in each category and top 8 group per apparatus in junior of 4 and 5, senior FIG group and senior development group

HOTEL: Provinces are responsible to reserve hotel rooms for their judges. JUDGES TRANSPORTATION: The organizing committee will provide transportation in inclement weather to the judges to and from the competition venue. It is a pleasant, short walk to the venue from the hotel. MEALS: TO AVOID FOOD WASTAGE AND EXPENSE, JUDGES MUST BOOK THE MEALS THAT THEY WISH TO HAVE PROVIDED BY THE ORGANIZING COMMITTEE. Schedule of meals and times and an order form will be sent to all provinces. Meals will be provided to the judges at the competition venue during scheduled competition and during daily judges meetings. Judges will receive a per diem for meals not provided by the organizing committee. No forms Submission will be accepted after this date and will automatically disqualify the gymnast from the competition without any refund.

3. In filling out these forms it is important that the information be very clear. Please ensure that the gymnast’s and coach’s names are legible. We recommend that these names be written in DARK block letters. In the case of light print-outs, please re-photocopy at a darker setting to ensure that the script will be visible to the judges. The coach’s signature is mandatory, we ask that all coaches print their names next to their signature

4. It will be the responsibility of each coach to send by mail (NOT FAX) one (1) copy of each gymnast's or group's form for the judges. The organizing committee will make the necessary copies as required. (a $5 fee is included in the registration fee for this.)

A. PERSONAL INFORMATION RELEASE FORM 1.0 The personal information you provide to GCG/ Rhythmic Gymnastics Program, and different organizing committees for Provincial and National events, is collected under the authority of the PIPEDA privacy bill for Canada. Information is used to determine your eligibility for competitive and recreational opportunities, age -related events, to facilitate your enrolment, to administer and evaluate programs/courses of benefit to gymnasts, coaches, Board Members, volunteers and judges, and for insurance and statistical purposes. It may be necessary to disclose this information to major funding bodies in order to verify registration and meet the funding requirements. This information will be transferred in a safe format. It will be password protected if it is transferred electronically, or it will be sent as hard copy. 2.0 Registration information required may include: name, age, birth date, address, gender, emergency contact information in case of accident or illness, previous movement experience, position within the club or provincial governing structure, volunteer experience, judging level attained, coaching level attained, performing and/or competitive level attained and citizenship information. Staff members and senior volunteers may have the following information collected and retained: coaching experience, performance appraisals, appointment records, resumes and letters of reference, university equivalency/course information for different aspects of coaching training, attendance records, coach certification numbers, certifications and equivalencies. 3.0 The Privacy Officer for GCG and Rhythmic Gymnastics Alberta are responsible for your personal information, and the personal information concerning any minor children, and they ensure that all personal information is handled in a confidential manner, and all reasonable precautions are taken to avoid loss, theft or unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use or modification. When signing this form, gymnasts, volunteers, coaches, judges and, in the case of minors, their parent/guardian, agree that they have the authority to provide this authorization/approval to GCG and its agents, and sanctioned organizing committees.
