What should I bring?

Required: 1. A fun attitude and a sense of humor! 2. Digital camera.

Optional: 1. Cell phone. 2. Water / snacks. 3. Backpack. 4. GPS. 5. Maps. 6. Guidebooks. 7. Laptop. 8. Pen and paper.

The clue sheet contains a mixture of clues – some physical and some mental.

How can I get help?

Phone-a-friend: Some clues will require finding obscure facts. It’ll be beneficial to have one or more people available to assist you on the Internet – let your friends in on the fun!

High-tech: Laptops, GPS', cellular phones, fax machines, Internet-enabled devices, or other devices may be useful!

How can I travel around?

Try and travel only by foot or public transit.

Try not to use any form of private transportation or accept any rides. This includes taxis, private cars, motorcycles, in-line skates, pedi-cabs, bicycles, or any other form of private transportation.

Groups must:

1. Obey all local laws, regulations, traffic laws. Participants are solely responsible for their actions and the consequences of those actions. 2. Comply with the directions of local authorities and property and/or venue owners and managers.

Please do not:

1. Engage in unsportsmanlike or illegal conduct, verbal or physical aggression towards the public, local officials, other participants, acts of vandalism, theft, or harassment. 6. Beaches are beautiful natural resources to be protected, not abused with uncontrolled littering. A clean ocean beach is beautiful. There are health and safety concerns for human beach goers, marine wildlife and the beach environment. Plastics are the most notorious for marine wildlife destruction. For example, the large, heavy plastic bags dumped at sea can cover a 4 ft sq area of sand the stops food supply to the razor clam sanded below.

Have each person must pick up 5 pieces of trash to put into the appropriate receptacle.

7. Bury a teammate up to their chest and take a picture – make them look like a mermaid or a shark.

8. Ask someone to borrow a body board and take a picture of two of your group trying it out!

10. Take a group picture with a lifeguard or in front of or on a lifeguard chair.
