Historical Figures “Baseball” Cards

To become familiar with people who made an impact in history as Europe moved out of the Medieval Period and into the Renaissance, you will create 4 index cards that profile significant historical figures that made important contributions during this era.

You will choose:

1 person from Chapter 11 on the Renaissance (Art/Literature)

1 person from Chapter 12 on the Reformation (Religion)

1 person from Chapter 13 on the Scientific Revolution (Science/Math)

1 person from Chapter 16 on the Age of Exploration (Explorer)

On one side of the card you will need the following information:

1. Name of historical figure (1/2 point)

2. Year of birth and death (1/2 point)

3. Country where they were born (1/2 point)

4. At least two words or phrases to describe the person based on what you read about them (1 point)

5. At least two important achievements they made (1 point)

On the other side of the card:

1. Name of the historical figure (again) (1/2 point)

2. A portrait of the person, a symbol, or an achievement associated with the person (self-created) (1 point) ***Each card is worth 5 points***
